Position Description

Reporting to the Head of Sales Trading, the Dealer / Junior Sales Trader is a member of the Execution team and is responsible for executing clients’ equities orders.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Operate as a Designated Trading Representative &/or Junior Sales Trader depending on experience level.

  • Use Excel and Coding skills to build and maintain desk tools.

  • Assist broader team to manage internal workflows and help collate CLSA research and other market intelligence to disseminate to clients.

  • Develop execution skill set to be able to offer assistance to the team in offering Best Execution to clients.

  • Use skillset to assist rest of desk to automate tools, monitor client portfolios, monitor trading activity.

  • Build relationships and rapport with onshore & offshore stakeholders to enable high level of teamwork and communication.

  • Undertake work (whether reading, time with mentors) to develop, deepen knowledge base & ability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and above in Business or relevant disciplines.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the industry.

  • Strong comprehension and communication skills.

  • Interest in equity and financial markets.

  • Strong demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems and technology.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel, ability to code/build & maintain complicated spreadsheets.

  • Will need to be able to be dedicated and efficient when completing daily tasks as required by internal & external parties.

  • Must have the soft skills required to monitor the market and client landscape and to provide information around these market dynamics and trends, client interest in stocks and levels to the rest of the Execution team as well as the Sales desk and Research teams.

  • Strong command in both written and spoken English.
