The Sales & Technical Support Engineer (Ventilation Fans) will combine technical expertise in ventilation fan products with customer‑facing sales support activities. This role will manage technical enquiries, prepare accurate quotations and product configurations, support the sales team through technical input, and ensure excellent post‑sale support and handover to operations. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between customers, sales, engineering and supply chain to deliver timely, compliant and cost‑effective ventilation fan solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to technical and commercial enquiries for ventilation fans, including axial, centrifugal and mixed‑flow types, by analysing requirements and recommending appropriate products and configurations.

  • Prepare detailed, accurate technical quotations and proposals that include product specifications, performance data, sizing calculations, installation requirements, lead times and commercial terms.

  • Collaborate with sales representatives, project managers and customers to scope projects, develop product selection options and provide technical advice during the pre‑sales phase.

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation such as datasheets, wiring diagrams, fan curves, performance calculations, installation guidance and test/commissioning checklists in line with company standards.

  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM and ERP systems: log enquiries, track quotations, update order status and support forecasting and reporting activities.

  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing to obtain technical clarifications, lead time updates, costing and to arrange special builds or modifications when required.

  • Provide technical support to site teams and customers during delivery, installation and commissioning; troubleshoot faults, suggest remedial actions and escalate complex issues to engineering where necessary.

  • Support after‑sales activities including spare parts identification, warranty assessments, defect resolution and preparation of service recommendations.

  • Participate in product training, technical demonstrations and client meetings; support business development by identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.

  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, health & safety requirements and internal quality procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong technical knowledge of ventilation fans, smoke management Systems, controls and associated accessories; ability to interpret fan curves, system pressure losses and performance characteristics.

  • Experience preparing technical quotations and product specifications for B2B customers, ideally in HVAC, industrial ventilation or related sectors.

  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical installation principles relevant to low‑voltage motors and fan assemblies.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience using CRM/ERP systems; familiarity with fan selection software or engineering calculation tools is desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to customers, installers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple enquiries in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Customer‑focused attitude with commercial awareness and the ability to identify sales opportunities while delivering technically sound solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams; adaptable and resilient under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related discipline, or demonstrable industry experience.

  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in technical sales support, application engineering or product support within ventilation, HVAC or related industrial equipment sectors.

  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, supplier liaison and order management processes is desirable.

Skills Required
