We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Tax Team!
The Sales Tax Specialist I is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of the sales tax cycle.
As a Sales Tax Specialist, you will:
Administer timely and accurate basic state and local sales/use tax returns without assistance and complex returns with assistance
Accurately prepare support documents for original and amended return filing using internal applications with assistance
Complete basic local sales tax registrations without assistance, complex local registrations with assistance
Answer basic sales tax questions for various business units and/or external customers with limited assistance
Administer recurring sales tax quality control procedures, including but not limited to report generation and correction
Identify exempt customers and assist with reapply of payments as needed
Grasp and identify sales tax coding errors in InfoLease and aid in resolution
Understand general ledger, debit and credit concepts and complete basic account reconciliations with minimal assistance
Update and maintain power queries for Sales Tax Team. Assist with creation of basic power queries as needed
Communicate directly and professionally with taxing authorities and resolve basic sales tax requests
Set up new clients in various sales tax systems and coordinate special client requests with leader
Proactively participate in strategic projects for the Sales Tax Team as assigned
Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external as well as internal customers
To be successful in this role you will need:
Education
Two or four-year accounting or finance degree or equivalent accounting/financial record keeping related experience required.
Experience
Prior leasing, sales tax, or related experience helpful but not required
Computer Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products, primarily Word and Excel
General experience with sales tax software preferred but not required
