We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
An exciting opportunity to join Mercer’s rapidly growing global Investments business, which has seen phenomenal growth in recent years and is now the world’s largest provider of OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) services, with over US$691 billion in global assets under management and US$17.5 trillion in global assets under advisement. You will have direct, day-to-day exposure to a wide range of senior leaders and investment decision-makers across our Investment, Sales, Client and Operations teams.
As part of our Business Development Unit, you will be at the heart of major new-business opportunities across pension, not-for-profit, insurance and wealth-management client segments. In a collaborative team environment, you will support our sales leaders and help improve win rates by producing high-quality materials, providing reliable day-to-day support, and bringing proactive commercial thinking. You will also build broad investment knowledge across areas such as strategic asset allocation, ESG and private markets. You will hone your skills in project management, concise communication and stakeholder management across a wide range of working styles. This role is an ideal stepping stone for ambitious candidates looking to build critical experience and progress towards a future client-facing sales career.
We will count on you to:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s investment research and solutions, and communicate key messages clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Asia sales and commercial leadership across business development activities, and drive the process and delivery of key outputs, including new-business proposals, pitch materials and other assigned areas of expertise.
- Support and influence wider Asia business development initiatives, such as the rollout of new tools, product launches, marketing initiatives, go-to-market strategy, market research and competitive intelligence—working with colleagues across Mercer’s global investment, operations, client and consulting teams.
- Coordinate effectively with our global support partners (including the Mumbai-based team), providing context, direction and feedback to ensure high-quality, consistent deliverables.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, with a strong academic track record
- 3–5 years’ experience in the investment management industry in a comparable commercial role (e.g., sales support, RFP writing, client management)
- Drive, resilience and strong attention to detail
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deliverables concurrently, with strong follow-through
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and an openness to learning and adopting new tools
