Job Description

As a Mass Spec Product Specialist, you will drive the adoption of Agilent Mass Spectrometry (MS) systems and workflows across commercial, government, and academic institutions within your territory. This includes managing assigned accounts, territories, industries, and partner networks while identifying strategic partners for collaboration.

The ideal candidate for this role will reside or be within a commutable distance to service customers within the sales territory of the Bay Area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Stay up to date on the Mass Spectrometry market, including advancements in MS systems, competitor offerings, and emerging workflows.

  • Represent Agilent at local technical shows and industry conferences.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of the Agilent product portfolio to recommend the best solutions for customers.

  • Act as the technical liaison between account managers, application teams, and customers.

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to engage and expand the customer base.

  • Build and nurture strong, long-term customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and continued engagement.

  • Drive sales opportunities through the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to successful negotiation of complex sales transactions.

  • Deliver impactful seminars to educate and attract new customers.

  • Provide market and product feedback to R&D for continuous improvement.

  • Utilize CRM and other tools to manage business operations effectively.

  • Encourage customer utilization of Agilent’s online sales platform where applicable.

  • Handle complex customer needs while exceeding sales goals and expanding Agilent’s presence in customer labs through independent thinking and creative strategies.

In this quota-based role, you will identify and cultivate LC/MS and GC/MS opportunities, contributing to sales growth in your designated region. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to advancing Agilent’s success in the dynamic Mass Spectrometry market.

Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

  • Industry and/or academic experience with LCMS and/or GCMS, providing a strong foundation in mass spectrometry theories, principles, and applications.
  • 4+ years of experience in application support.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across internal teams.
  • Willingness to adopt innovative approaches to customer engagement.
  • Basic understanding of strategic selling principles.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Curious mindset with a willingness to ask questions and continuously learn.
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 40%.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least March 27, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $177,210.00 - $295,350.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
