Your Opportunity
Scion is paving a path in student living and the Sales Intern will support our vision by executing company sales strategies over the critical summer season. This position will support the centralized corporate sales team in achieving our portfolio sales objectives, assist in guarantor liability and source potential candidates for all Scion communities. The Sales Intern excels in a fast-paced, agile, corporate sales environment. This role demands personal accountability, strong initiative, tendency for collaboration, and a knack for innovation.
Scion’s internship program provides a unique opportunity for ambitious college students to learn, contribute, and gain real world work experience in a collaborative environment. Interns have the chance to learn more about Scion’s culture and business while developing practical skills necessary for post-graduation. The 10-week program includes 1-on-1 guidance and timely feedback, development opportunities for soft skills and technical skills, spotlights on various functions outside of your team, mentorship relationships with company leaders and networking opportunities with colleagues. The program equips interns with an understanding of working in a professional environment dedicated to providing colleagues and communities with optimal support, expertise and experience.
At the end of your internship, you will have obtained the following experience:
- An understanding of Scion’s business and how the sales function supports the business.
- Basic knowledge of Scion’s internal technology and systems (such as our home-grown proprietary business intelligence software).
- Experience presenting the identification of obstacles and solutions, implementation, and results to varying audiences.
- How to effectively work with others and development of interpersonal relationships.
- Networking and collaborating with peers, Scion colleagues and executive leadership.
Your Responsibilities
Marketing & Leasing
- Assist assigned portfolio with applicable sales strategies and efforts within the remaining leasing communities.
- Assist with leasing efforts, outbound contacts, and communication to prospects.
- Mitigate financial liability through collection of qualified financial backing for prospective future residents.
- Develop strategic sales initiatives and present deliverables at the conclusion of the internship, coupled with comprehensive evaluation of performance.
- Assist the sales team in the day-to-day activities of the sales process.
- Manage and update leasing contacts across various platforms, including AI-driven systems.
- Participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the sales team.

What We Require
- A desire and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate or master's program with coursework in business administration, marketing, advertising, sales or a related field.
- Must be willing to work full-time for the full 10-week term of the program, beginning June 9, 2025.
- Aptitude in developing proficient technology skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Experience with lead management systems, AI technologies, and communication management platforms for text and email messaging is preferred
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.

Operational Details
- Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters where you will be exposed to on-the-fly learning opportunities;
- Full-time hours; 10-week program.
- Working hours are typically 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
