Key responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with customers to understand their needs and technical requirements and drive the growth of our automation portfolio in your assigned region.
This position covers a sales region primarily located in Middle Franconia (Mittelfranken) and the Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz), roughly stretching between the metropolitan areas of Nuremberg, Erlangen, Fürth and the Regensburg–Amberg–Weiden region. To ensure efficient customer support and short response times, we are looking for a candidate who is based within this area or is willing to relocate there. Regular on-site customer visits are an essential part of the role.
The work model for the role is: Onsite, Remote #LI-Onsite / #LI-Remote
This role is contributing to the Machine Automation division within ABB Process Automation business area in Germany.
Main stakeholders are customers in the assigned region, internal sales support, product management, and the headquarters in Austria.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Building strong and lasting customer relationships by effectively addressing technical and commercial requirements
Collaborating with the sales support team to prepare compelling offers and ensuring meticulous follow-up
Leading contract and price negotiations with key accounts
Driving strategic cross-selling initiatives to optimize customer profitability
Participating in trade fairs, exhibitions, and customer events to present our cutting-edge automation solutions
Providing insights into market trends, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to support strategy development
Analyzing your sales region, identifying potential customers, and acquiring new business
You will join a dynamic and collaborative sales team, where you will be able to shape customer relationships, expand market presence, and work with innovative industrial automation technologies.
Qualifications for the role
Technical degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position working with automation technology
Strong technical knowledge in PLCs, drive systems, bus systems, and HMI
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong problem-solving abilities with an innovative and hands-on mindset
High level of autonomy and sense of responsibility
Professional communication with the company headquarters and reliable follow-up
Fluent German skills and proficiency in English
