Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of products/services within a designated market/division, in line with the division strategy. Each day, you will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
You will belong to the Instrumentation Sales team and be responsible for sales of instrumentation devices, including equipment for measuring pressure, temperature, water level, flow, and more. You will manage existing OEM accounts (1–2 companies) as well as other existing customers. In addition, based on our business strategy, you will identify and drive the development of new market opportunities within designated markets, including new customer acquisition. Along with instrumentation devices, you may also have opportunities to propose other ABB products, such as analyzers.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the Measurement & Analytical Division in Japan. Main stakeholders are customers, ABB factories and other ABB business areas focusing on the same customer/application.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Communicating to the customers about details related to delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions, in line with ABB’s offering and strategy.
- Ensuring efficient marketing activities and communicates value proposition to customers.
- Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market.
- Managing administrative procedures in sales processes and supports cash collection and project management activities, when needed.

Qualifications for the role
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience in industrial equipment (required)
- Experience working in the industrial sector within the field of process automation (required)
- Sales experience in instrumentation, analyzers, or process equipment, or experience in sales to industrial machinery manufacturers (preferred)
- Experience handling OEM projects
- Experience in technical support or engineering for overseas manufacturers’ products
- Experience participating in technical meetings and negotiations in English
- A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical knowledge acquired through previous professional experience (preferred)
