We're Hiring a Sales Representative for our Jabsco, Rule and Flowjet Business!

Job Summary:
The Sales Representative plays a critical role in promoting and selling water industry products and services to customers. This position involves identifying potential customers, conducting sales presentations, and negotiating contracts. The Sales Representative collaborates with cross functional teams to address customer needs, perform market analysis, and implement sales strategies. Additionally, this role involves maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent customer service. Strong sales skills, a thorough understanding of the water industry, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Responsible for developing and managing sales to distribution channels and some direct OEMs for Specialty Flow Control (SFC) products in the south Americas. This includes the re-engagement and expansion of existing, sleeping or underperforming channels as well as developing new channel partners. It will also include establishing performance measures and targets for these channel partners with primarily focused on key-accounts (A-accounts).

This role must be recognized as an ambassador for the Specialty Flow Control business and its products. The incumbent must have strong drive, good interpersonal and business development skills and commercial acumen to liaise with multiple stakeholders at many different levels within our customer base. Analyzing industry trends, resolving problems, dealing with complex situations and implementing change are all key for successful performance.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Within assigned areas develop the medium term sales strategy for development and expansion of sales in SFC
  • Collaborate with existing channel partners, in the leisure marine segment regarding increasing sales, identifying new areas for business, interprets internal and external business issues and recommends solutions and best practices.
  • Improve channel partner management through initiatives such as reactivation of “sleeping” channel partners with respect to segment
  • Analyze distribution and industry trends, recommend new channels and channel partners in growth areas, help with the setup, change management and successful launch of new channel partners with growth expectations of a minimum revenue of $160K per annum (A-accounts).
  • Visit channel partners and influence existing sales force as required to ensure success of existing and new channels developed
  • Leverage existing OEM growth strategy processes and success stories to build the case for new partnerships and win new business.
  • Review existing non direct OEM customers where they may need to now be direct accounts or hand over small direct OEM accounts to distribution if they become too small in terms of revenue (annual threshold $160K).
  • Deliver effective presentations, education and customer intimacy initiatives as required to channel partners to help them improve their business and to help Specialty Flow Control win more business from competitors (compelling seminars, demonstrations and other education that conveys technically complex material in an easy to understand way and engages partners with our product and brand).
  • Represent the company and its values in its relationship with channel partners and other stakeholders at all times.
  • Bring Voice of Customer information, and key competitor information back to the Specialty Flow Control management teams to enable continuous improvement activities and drive growth.
  • Is accountable for his or her budget, performance and results of her external teams at business partners.
  • Set growth targets per distributor to mutual agree on the growth target per year.

Review distributor performance on a quarterly basis and adjust the action plan if targets are not achieved.

  • Support distributors with local shows or inhouse events
  • Initiate dual visits to OEM’s managed by distributors to grow share of wallet at these OEM’s with the aim to develop the leisure marine aftermarket.
  • Make regular analysis of customer business to evaluate performance.
  • Report every visit in Sales Force (CRM) to support central customer communication throughout the business.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of sales experience (water, wastewater, pump, municipal sector and
  • Experience in managing sales with international distributors and (indirect) OEMs
  • Ability to develop relationships at multi levels within our customer base and across different cultures.
  • Business development experience
  • Strong understanding of consultative/value-based selling.
  • Experience managing complex and long-cycle sales processes.
  • Self-starter who works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Solves complex problems, takes a broad perspective to identify solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree level education or equivalent experience in field such as sales and marketing
  • Strong communication, multilevel negotiation skills with the ability to interact and negotiate with purchasing, engineering, and executive management areas and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English (written and oral).

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 65% of the time.
  • International travel is required, primarily to Central America and the Caribbean, US to support field visits conducted both in collaboration with distributors and directly with end customers.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Mexican passport and US Visa.
