POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Sales Manager – Hawaii, the Sales Representative sells products to new and established accounts, provides, and maintains good customer service. The Sales Representative provides stocking, maintenance, and monitoring in all aspects of merchandising and acts as a liaison between the Company and our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sales Duties:
  • Calls on established accounts and prospective customers to secure orders.
  • Cold-calls new leads and sets up meetings to drive new business.
  • Conducts sales and promotional presentations to store management and/or buyer(s).
  • Quotes prices and payment terms and prepares necessary sales contracts for orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Accurately maintains records of sales and expense accounts.
  • Orders and merchandises products, including but not limited to, stocking customer shelves, fronting, facing, and rotating products ensuring proper placement and pricing of products, setting up displays, and obtaining order approval.
  • Ensures price signs and POS/coupons are on merchandise as needed.
  • Provides and maintains good customer relations and acts as a customer liaison to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Keeps management informed of the current environment and changes in the marketplace by submitting activity reports, such as weekly sales.
  • Checks for damages/credits; maintain backroom inventory to avoid out of stock and expired products.
  • Participates and contributes in team meetings.
  • Makes special delivery of products to customers as needed.
  • Conducts retail surveys as required.
  • Participates in counter resets and other sales activities and projects.
  • Provides departmental support. Including but not limited to coordinating sales promotional and incentive programs, completing correspondence and recordkeeping.
  • Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains weekly call sheet.
  • May be required to cover other routes and/or travel to the neighbor islands for vacation relief as required.
  • Merchandising Duties:
  • Stock, maintain and monitor all aspects of merchandising, including but not limited to stocking customer shelves, ensuring proper placement, rotation, pricing of products, setting up of displays, etc.
  • Assists sales team with their accounts and coordinates own work duties.
  • Accurately maintains a work log, which accounts for activities and driving time between accounts.
  • Maintains good customer relationships with store management and associates by providing regular service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Works independently and as well as a team player.
  • Assists in schematic resets and other sales activities and projects.
  • Performs work in a clean, neat, and safe manner.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years sales experience or related experience.
  • One year merchandising or related work experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, persuasive and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and Kronos.
  • Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle required.
  • Clean driving abstract.
