The Opportunity
As a Sales Representative, you will focus on generating new business across all of Morningstar' s main product lines and will be reporting to Head of Sales, Asia and Managing Director, Southeast Asia. Although you will receive some incoming leads, you will be responsible for generating the majority of new business leads on your own. Your target clients are banks, insurance companies, asset managers, advisory firms. We're looking for someone with hands-on initiative, strong leadership, and the ability to build long-term client relationships. This position will be based in Japan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Exceed the sales target, which is based on new business from new clients and growing an existing base of business.
- Work closely with other sales professionals, product managers, implementation teams and client sales support teams to ensure a world-class product offering for our clients.
- Employ winning strategies and ensure that our product lines meet the market needs to continue growing the business.
- Take part in user forums and other activities with prospects and clients such as conferences and exhibitions.
- You will be responsible for accurate and timely reporting using our in-house CRM system and managing the contracts for new and renewal business.
Qualifications & experience required:
- A talented communicator and face-to-face presenter, able to demonstrate expert-level knowledge of the products sold and to represent Morningstar in a professional manner.
- Skilled at working as part of a team, sharing information, leads, market information, and competitive feedback with product management, sales colleagues, and management.
- At least three to five years of business-to-business sales experience (or relevant marketing/commercial experience), preferably in the financial services sector.
- Prior experience supporting and/or selling financial data and solutions is preferred.
- Experience in selling real time data solutions and/or terminals will be an advantage.
- Proficient written and verbal English skills are required. A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is required.
