Position Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving both short- and long-term revenue growth for Waste Pro within the Treasure Coast territory. This role focuses on targeted prospecting, relationship development, and consultative selling to secure new business and expand existing accounts.

Working closely with regional leadership and internal teams, the Sales Representative develops strategic partnerships with commercial clients, municipal leaders, franchisers, and key community stakeholders. Through strong communication, industry knowledge, and solution-based selling, the representative secures new contracts and renewals for the collection, processing, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and recycling services.

This position plays a critical role in identifying municipal and commercial opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales Growth
  • Generate new revenue and maximize sales volume within the assigned territory.

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new commercial and municipal opportunities.

  • Meet or exceed established sales activity and revenue targets.

  • Conduct prospecting through calls, networking, and in-person visits.

  • Develop strategic sales plans aligned with regional and corporate goals.

Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, municipal officials, and decision-makers.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term retention.

  • Support contract renewals, expansions, and service upgrades.

Strategic Selling & Market Positioning
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to understand customer needs and economic drivers.

  • Leverage industry knowledge to develop competitive proposals.

  • Monitor competitor pricing, services, and market activity.

Proposal Development & Contract Acquisition
  • Partner with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management to prepare bid proposals and RFP responses.

  • Ensure proposals meet all specifications, pricing structures, and professional presentation standards.

  • Assist in contract negotiations to secure profitable agreements.

Collaboration & Internal Coordination
  • Work closely with Division Managers, finance teams, and corporate sales leadership to support sales initiatives.

  • Participate in billing and contract audits to ensure accurate pricing and invoicing.

  • Track sales activity and forecast revenue using company CRM tools.

Community Engagement & Brand Representation
  • Represent Waste Pro at community events, business associations, and industry organizations such as:

    • Chambers of Commerce

    • Local League of Cities

    • Keep America Beautiful affiliates

    • SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America)

  • Promote Waste Pro’s services and community involvement throughout the territory.

Customer Support & Issue Resolution
  • Remain actively involved in resolving customer issues and service concerns.

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal waste management regulations.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in corporate training and professional development programs.

  • Stay current with company technology, systems, and sales tools.

  • Complete other duties assigned by leadership to support divisional goals.

Work Environment
  • Combination of office work and field-based outside sales.

  • Frequent travel within the Treasure Coast sales territory.

Physical & Licensing Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the territory.

  • Ability to perform frequent computer and communication tasks including keyboarding and mobile technology use.

Preferred QualificationsWhat You’ll Bring:
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years in sales, ideally within the waste management, environmental services, or B2B sales sector.

  • Sales Skills: You are a hunter with a passion for closing deals and driving new business. Your consultative selling skills are second to none.

  • Relationship-Builder: You excel at connecting with people, creating trust, and building lasting partnerships.

  • Self-Starter: You’re motivated, proactive, and can work independently, yet thrive in a collaborative team environment.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with the waste industry, competitors, and key factors influencing client decisions.

    • Expertise in negotiation, bid responses, contract management, and forecasting.

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT), along with sales automation tools.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to deliver presentations effectively.

    • Strong problem-solving, market research, and pricing strategies.

  • Travel-Ready: Must be prepared for extensive travel within the defined sales area. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are essential.

  • Professional Integrity: Ability to operate with the highest levels of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
