Position Overview
The Sales Reporting Analyst turns raw data from multiple business systems into clear, actionable insight for Sales Leadership. Drawing on data warehouses, finance tools, sales engagement platforms, and spreadsheets, you will design and maintain reporting pipelines that track pipeline health, bookings, forecasts, and performance against targets. You will be the go-to resource for ad-hoc sales analysis, helping leaders make data-driven decisions while safeguarding data quality across sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, automate, and maintain recurring sales reports and BI dashboards using SQL, spreadsheets, and modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Pull, clean, and join data from data warehouses and operational systems such as finance, marketing automation, and sales engagement platforms to create a unified view of the revenue funnel.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and RevOps stakeholders to translate business questions into technical reporting requirements and scalable data models.
- Monitor data quality by performing routine audits, reconciling discrepancies, and driving corrective action with data owners.
- Produce ad-hoc analyses for quarterly business reviews, incentive planning, territory design, and campaign ROI.
- Document data definitions, transformation logic, and dashboard standards to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- Train end users on self-service reporting features and BI best practices, and serve as first-line support for report access or data questions.
- Continuously seek opportunities to automate manual processes and improve report performance and usability.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in sales or business analysis in a data-focused role with heavy reporting responsibilities.
- Advanced SQL skills for querying and joining large datasets; strong Excel or Google Sheets expertise, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise BI platform (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, etc.) and familiarity with data-warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schema, ETL pipelines).
- Proven ability to transform multi-source data into dashboards and visualisations that drive decision-making.
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation and governance.
- Working knowledge of sales processes, KPIs, and pipeline metrics; exposure to CRM data a plus.
- Bonus points for experience with Python or other scripting languages to automate data workflows.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, capable of juggling multiple requests and setting clear delivery expectations.
