The Sales & Project Manager is a high-impact, client-facing leader responsible for growing profitable business, developing trusted customer relationships, and guiding complex capital equipment and systems integration projects from opportunity development through installation and start-up. This role combines technical sales, solution development, commercial leadership, and hands-on project execution.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, a consultative sales approach, disciplined project management practices, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-moving manufacturing and field installation environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, retain, and grow strategic accounts while identifying and qualifying new business opportunities aligned with GENESYS capabilities and profitability objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams through clear communication, follow-through, technical credibility, and sound commercial judgment.
- Lead development of project scope, budget, schedule, commercial assumptions, risk profile, and execution strategy for custom automation, capital equipment, and systems integration opportunities.
- Translate customer needs and production challenges into practical, value-based solutions that improve safety, efficiency, quality, uptime, and return on investment.
- Provide leadership on both technical and commercial matters, balancing customer requirements, company goals, project risk, and long-term account value.
- Operate with autonomy and accountability, balancing office, customer site, and field responsibilities to maximize ROI for GENESYS and ensure successful project outcomes.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage assigned projects from concept through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, start-up, closeout, and lessons learned.
- Create, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, budgets, forecasts, change orders, and financial projections with timely updates to senior leadership.
- Lead customer interface meetings, construction coordination meetings, design reviews, schedule reviews, and project status discussions before and during installation activities.
- Coordinate engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and customer resources to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate project risks, including scope gaps, schedule constraints, field conflicts, technical issues, cost exposure, and customer-driven changes.
- Support field execution during critical windows, including availability during off-peak hours, nights, weekends, or holidays when required for project success.
- Facilitate project closeout, lessons-learned meetings, and process improvement actions that strengthen future estimates, execution plans, customer experience, and profitability.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related technical or business field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, especially for candidates with proven success in technical project management, capital equipment sales, automation, construction, manufacturing, or systems integration.
- Experience leading projects involving custom equipment, industrial automation, manufacturing systems, field installation, or turnkey production solutions strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, customer expectations, financial forecasts, change orders, and project risk.
- Advanced certifications such as PMP, CAPM, technical sales training, safety training, or comparable professional development are a plus but not required.
