Position Summary: 

 

The Sales Operations & Support Senior Analyst is responsible for driving profitable growth through strategic pricing analysis, margin optimization, and discount governance. This role evaluates complex product configurations, develops pricing recommendations, analyzes market and sales trends, and assesses the effectiveness of discount programs to maximize revenue, profitability, and customer value. The position serves as a trusted pricing consultant to Sales Operations and collaborates closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product Management, and business leaders to support data-driven pricing decisions. Additionally, the role leads process improvement initiatives, develops pricing tools and profitability models, supports pricing-related projects, and provides guidance, training, and escalation support to junior team members while ensuring compliance with established pricing policies and procedures.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Generate and evaluate margin calculations on complicated configuration units using approved standardized methodologies to improve margin and revenue for the business.
  • Conduct rigorous analysis of discount programs' performance, including sales volume, revenue impact, margin contribution, and customer acquisition/retention, to assess effectiveness and inform future strategy refinement.
  • Document all completed evaluations using approved master forms.
  • Obtain data from company applications and other approved sources.
  • Assign commission (if needed) using approved methodology and defined policies.
  • Leads on to updating work instructions as required.
  • Supporting, but not limited to own initiatives geared toward streamlining current processes, assisting, but not limited to creating new processes and using new technologies and systems.
  • Generate monthly reports for pricing realization, sales trends, pricing leakage and other pricing related activities establishing sales prices and opportunities.
  • Function as a reliable pricing consultant for the sales operations department.
  • Grow total gross margin dollars by identifying pricing actions that encourage higher sales values, conversion rates, margin, and customer satisfaction on complicated unit configurations.
  • Determine profit margins to aid the business in assessing the influence of customer and industry composition.
  • Lead / assist pricing-related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables and drafting communications or presentations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Offering, Order Management, VP of Sales Operations, VP of Product Marketing and the Executive Leadership Team to align discount strategies with overall business objectives and ensure effective execution.
  • Optimize pricing structures, discount strategies, and promotional pricing to maximize revenue and margin while balancing customer value and competitive positioning.
  • Work independently based on work demand notifications or as requested by the Strategic Pricing Manager.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in discount optimization and pricing analytics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance discount strategies' effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct price elasticity analysis to understand the impact of pricing changes on demand, revenue, and profitability.
  • Evaluate new DOP types such as DPAS (Defense Prioritization Allocation System), Large quotes, large projects, Major and GSA (Global Strategic Accounts).
  • Develop / maintain pricing tools and profitability models.
  • Assist Analyst on identifying customer needs through communication and probing. 
  • Lead/ participates in conferences calls, meetings, and discussions with Sales Representatives, Sales Coordinators/ Analysts, and Managers. 
  • Assists Team Lead on team meetings, huddles, and information cascades.  Communicate with the team on best practices, lessons learned, process and product updates during team huddles/meetings.
  • Execute other reasonable duties and projects as required.
  • Acts as a contingency for the next-tier equivalent or similar function to ensure business continuity.
  • Functions as the point of escalation for product-specific technical or procedural queries from peers and junior team members.
  • Offers direction and guidance to junior employees as required.
  • Conducts product/process/functional training.
  • Creating a training plan for new recruits.
  • Participates in cross-business unit committees as a contributor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of any 4-year course
  • Preferably Degree in Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Ecommerce or related technical field. 
  • 5-year experience in customer service
  • 2-year experience with Vertiv Customer service environment
