Our client is an eCommerce brand, retailer, B2B supplier, & manufacturer in the Home Décor category. They retain an industry leading retail position within various marketplace channels as well as directly on their website. 


The Opportunity:

As Sales Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the company's presence and revenue in a recently acquired sales channel. Reporting directly to the COO, your first few months will focus on ensuring the full implementation of ongoing strategic initiatives, determining and implementing quality standards for sales activities, and creating a work environment that promotes clear, timely communication with internal and external customers. Your operational mindset and expertise in customer experience optimization will be essential in achieving these near-term goals, while setting you and your team up for future success.

Prime areas where the new Sales Operations Manager will be expected to deliver value:

  • Channel Ownership: Contribute to the growth and profitability of your assigned sales channel(s) through development and/or implementation of short-term and long-term strategies.
  • Analytics and Insights: Utilize your expertise in sales and customer experience analytics to gather insights, track performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement. Work on enhancing the company's analytical capabilities to inform decisions and drive efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, design, production, and eCommerce teams to ensure seamless execution of channel strategies, campaigns, and product launches.
  • Entrepreneurial Leadership: Advocate for testing and learning initiatives, develop strategic plans, and research investments in tools and training that can bolster the company's competitive advantage, analytics capabilities, and overall growth trajectory.

Competitive candidates will submit resumes that demonstrate:

  • Track record of managing effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong understanding of online marketplaces, online consumer behavior, and eCommerce trends.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to implement product and service enhancements.
  • Utilization of performance metrics; the creation of statistical evaluation tools is especially helpful.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in delivering formal sales training.
  • Experience identifying individual gaps in knowledge and performance, and experience developing training to address the gaps.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but we will consider candidates without a degree who demonstrate a track record of sales team development.
