Role Overview:
The purpose of this role is to drive sustainable growth across the Off-Trade channel by developing strong customer partnerships, leading commercial negotiations, and delivering profitable business plans aligned with Diageo's growth strategy. The role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, maximizing distribution and portfolio performance, and ensuring the successful execution of customer business plans through effective collaboration with distributors and cross-functional teams.
This role exists to accelerate Diageo's commercial performance by influencing customer decisions, securing best-in-class commercial agreements, and translating strategic priorities into sustainable business growth across the Off-Trade channel.
Role Responsibilities:
- Execute Diageo's commercial priorities across assigned Off-Trade customers, ensuring excellence in distribution, visibility, promotional execution, and in-store activation.
- Coordinate, engage, and provide day-to-day guidance to distributor sales teams, reinforcing Diageo's execution standards and commercial priorities across key accounts and liquor stores.
- Build strong working relationships with distributor sales representatives, store owners, and customer personnel to facilitate consistent execution and brand presence.
- Monitor execution of agreed commercial initiatives, ensuring promotional activities, POSM implementation, and visibility standards are delivered on time and in line with Diageo guidelines.
- Identify execution gaps and improvement opportunities at the point of sale, provide timely feedback and follow-up with distributor sales teams to drive corrective actions.
- Support the expansion of distribution, availability, and execution quality across assigned customers, ensuring compliance with agreed commercial plans.
- Capture market insights on competitor activities, execution trends, customer needs, and channel dynamics, sharing relevant feedback with the commercial team.
- Monitor and escalate operational issues affecting execution, including stock availability, promotional compliance, pricing inconsistencies, or distributor service levels.
- Demonstrate ownership, field discipline, and a collaborative mindset to ensure consistent execution and strong engagement with distributor partners.
Experience / skills required:
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in Sales, Field Sales, Sales Operations, Trade Marketing, or Commercial Execution within the FMCG, beverage, or consumer goods industry.
- Experience working with distributors and/or indirect sales models, supporting commercial execution across the Off-Trade channel.
- Experience visiting customers and executing commercial initiatives in liquor stores, convenience stores, supermarkets, or other retail environments.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation of commercial activities.
- Experience monitoring execution standards and following up on promotional, distribution, and visibility initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of Off-Trade commercial execution, retail operations, and distributor management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams without direct authority.
- Good organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic commercial environment.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with CRM or sales execution tools is an advantage.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory
