Via is on a mission to build modern public transportation networks that expand access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our technology powers hundreds of transit systems globally, transforming outdated and fragmented networks into smart, efficient, data-driven mobility solutions. As the recognized leader in TransitTech, we partner with governments, operators, and private organizations worldwide to design and operate the next generation of transportation.

As an Expansion Manager at Via Japan, you will help shape the future of mobility by enabling our sales, product, and operations teams to bring Via’s solutions to municipalities and transportation operators nationwide. You’ll join a fast-growing Tokyo team at the center of partner engagement, operational insight, and strategic decision-making. In this role, you’ll support the full partnership lifecycle - from early sales scoping to deployment and ongoing performance improvement - serving as a trusted advisor to internal teams and external partners to ensure our solutions deliver measurable impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Full ownership of high-visibility initiatives that help Japan partners adopt and optimize Via’s technology.
  • Drive CRM excellence and sales pipeline visibility, ensuring teams have the data, momentum, and clarity needed to move opportunities forward.
  • Support the sales team in scoping solutions that address partner mobility challenges - from early project scoping to launch execution and beyond.
  • Analyze transportation, operational, and rider behavior data to uncover insights and shape performance recommendations, service design adjustments, and strategic improvements.
  • Serve as a communication hub bridging partners and Via’s global teams (sales, product, engineering, operations, marketing), ensuring alignment and smooth execution.
  • Troubleshoot operational or product challenges with speed and empathy, escalating thoughtfully and helping partners achieve long-term success.
  • Represent Via in meetings, workshops, and presentations with a professional, confident presence in both English and Japanese.

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in SaaS, mobility, operations, implementation, customer success, or solution engineering.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese (verbal & written), including client-facing settings.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools, systems, and product concepts.
  • Experience working with municipalities, public sector partners, or transportation operators.
  • Understanding of mobility, transit operations, or technology platforms.
  • Proactive, resourceful problem-solver who enjoys tackling ambiguous challenges.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation will be competitive and aligned with experience. More details will be provided during the interview process.
