Based in Penang, Malaysia, the Sales Manager drives business development for the Packaged Gases product lines and services across Penang and Perak. Leading a regional commercial team, you will collaborate across lines of business within the Air Liquide Group to execute strategic sales models and maximize group objectives.How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
  • Implement targeted sales plans across assigned territories by identifying key market segments and preparing strategic prospecting lists in coordination with Marketing.

  • Evaluate customer sales data to qualify high-potential prospects and establish targeted, actionable commercial strategies.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute structured customer visits based on sales targets, utilizing historic data to define clear meeting objectives.

  • Provide timely, actionable feedback to senior management by drafting concise visit reports and progress summaries.

  • Initiate regular prospecting activities targeting competitor clients and potential accounts, collaborating with distributor sales forces when necessary.

  • Develop an active information network to monitor competitor threats, identify new industrial site developments, and track regional economic trends.

  • Assess customer profitability per product line to strategically implement price increases or introduce high-added-value solutions.

  • Define and execute customized customer loyalty strategies using efficient communication channels, including site visits, digital outreach, and distributor networks.

  • Accelerate cash collection by directly contacting accounts and resolving payment escalations in coordination with the Credit Control team.

  • Manage, mentor, and align the commercial teams in Penang and Perak to ensure high performance and compliance with company business models.

Are you a MATCH?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven B2B sales experience, ideally within the industrial gases, chemicals, or manufacturing sectors.

  • At least 2 years of successful experience in a management, supervisory, or team leadership role.

  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of market dynamics, customer profitability analysis, and financial metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize innovative negotiation techniques and present tailored technical or commercial solutions to complex accounts.

  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to lead regional teams and collaborate effectively across a matrixed, multinational group.
