Job Responsibilities
- Effectively promote Koppers Utility Services to the market and develop new accounts.
- Account management through customer contacts. Travel requirements 60% of the job.
- Prepare quotes and bids to maximize profit for the division.
- Develop and maintain favorable relationships with customers.
- Analyzes customer/competition situations and generates specific plans that will achieve objectives.
- Maintains an active role in understanding market pricing, and competitive outlook.
- Constantly defines and redefines area of responsibility and market situation and reviews the pertinence of plans and changes them when advisable.
- Maintains an active reporting procedure in accordance with departmental and company needs.
- Develops a Business Plan for area of responsibility that is consistent with short-range and long-range company objectives.
- Maintains a sales forecasting capability which will in the short-term make possible efficient scheduling and provide superior customer service, and in the long-term, provide information for business planning, resource planning and budgeting.
- Keeps well informed on industry changes, participates where possible in organizations directly involved with our prime markets, and continually works to improve sales techniques and sales knowledge.
- Utilize CRM to manage contacts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing or related field required.
- Three to five years of sales experience required.
- Significant outside sales experience within industrial products, utilities, wood products or other related B2B industries required.
- Ability to prepare detailed and complex reports utilizing prescribed procedures is required of this position.
- Willingness to travel 60%.
- Proficient use in Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of price development, costs, and margin analysis.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Self-starter and ability to work remotely.
- Basic knowledge of financial reports.
- Must possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, proven record of initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual financial goals in a high growth organization.
- Must possess excellent presentation, writing, and negotiating skills, with the ability to create and deliver convincing arguments covering a broad range of complex issues.
