Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager is responsible for Sales of Teledyne Marine products in the defined area both directly and through distributors, specific responsibility to support the UK and Norway territories for Teledyne Marine’s Imaging & Instruments vertical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility to build and maintain an active pipeline in a CRM, Salesforce, to exceed orders and sales targets on a quarterly, and annual basis. 

  • Provide accurate booking forecasts and keep up-to-date customer and pipeline records.

  • Actively manage the channels to ensure they are fully engaged, optimised, and driven to succeed.

  • Develop and drive a regional sales strategy to maximize market penetration of Teledyne Marine Instruments & Imaging products including new market entries both direct and with channel partners.

  • Orchestrate and hold technical seminars, product presentations and customer demon­strations direct and in conjunction with partners and channels.

  • Remain informed of competitor status, products, advantages, and weaknesses.

  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of market conditions and trends. Identify opportunities and capture market share growth while collaborating with the Teledyne Marine businesses to optimize efforts.

  • Be responsible for discovering Teledyne Marine non-standard sales opportunities and participate in the selling process in collaboration with product management.

  • Understand fully the benefits and functionality of each of the products in Teledyne Marine Instruments & Imaging portfolio and how they compare within the market.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience

Relevant background/education in a maritime organization would be advantageous.

SKILLS:

Strong interpersonal acumen, communicate effectively from entry level to C-suite customers.

Languages needed – English, fluent.

Excellent communication ability with all nationalities, written as well as verbal.

Ability to have or attain good comprehension of technical/maritime issues.

AUTHORITIES:

Providing quotations to Agents/Reps within pricing authority

Providing quotations to customers within pricing authority

Recommend termination and hiring of Agents/Reps within the region based on defined performance criteria.

Booking Target

Revenue Target

Quarterly reports on Agents / Reps

Ability to provide timely and accurate booking prognosis.

Ability to provide qualitative feedback on market conditions and trends, new customer applications and product ideas.

Ability to report competitive activity.
