SALES MANAGER – STRATEGIC ACCOUNTS

Carolina / Hybrid Schedule
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a
Sales Manager – Strategic Accounts to lead the development, sales, and
profitable growth of its electrical and private-label product portfolio. The
role will own complex corporate customer relationships, identify market
opportunities, and execute strategic account growth plans in partnership with
Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain. The
successful candidate will combine executive-level relationship management, technical-commercial
judgment, and disciplined sales execution to expand existing business and
develop new opportunities. This position follows a hybrid schedule of three
days onsite and two days remote and requires residence within a reasonable
commuting distance of the Raleigh/Garner area. Relocation assistance is not
available.
Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent
relevant work experience.
- Minimum
10 years of progressive B2B sales experience; electrical products sales
experience is preferred.
- Proven
success managing complex, multi-location strategic corporate accounts,
including relationships with centralized procurement teams and senior executive
stakeholders. Experience must extend beyond transactional sales or
relationships limited to individual branches, contractors, warehouses, or
customer sites.
- Experience
engaging corporate buyers, senior leadership teams, and VP/EVP-level
stakeholders through consultative selling and executive relationship
management.
- Strong
strategic account management experience, including complex buying processes,
cross-functional decision-makers, and multi-year customer growth initiatives.
- Experience
evaluating technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer
application requirements to develop value-based commercial solutions.
- Demonstrated
ability to develop and deliver executive-level business presentations and
strategic account reviews.
- Ability
to travel approximately 20–30%, as business needs require.
- Strategic
account management, consultative selling, and customer growth planning.
- Knowledge
of engineered or technically specified products, customer applications, and
complex industrial sales environments; electrical product knowledge is strongly
preferred.
- Market
and competitive analysis, including customer needs, industry trends, and
product positioning.
- Sales
strategy, market penetration, revenue growth, pricing, margin, and
profitability.
- Techno-commercial
negotiation, RFQs, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Sales
data analysis, forecasting, demand planning, and performance reporting.
- Microsoft
Office Suite, including advanced PowerPoint capabilities for executive
presentations and customer business reviews.
- Executive
communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Commercial

requirements, and business objectives.

grow, and retain relationships with existing and prospective corporate
customers.
- Serve
as the senior commercial relationship owner for strategic electrical accounts,
leading customer engagement, techno-commercial negotiations, issue escalation,
and long-term growth planning.
- Conduct
primary and secondary market research to identify prospective customers and
assess customer preferences, competitor strategies, and industry trends.
- Partner
with Product Management and Engineering to recommend new products,
private-label solutions, features, packaging improvements, and application
solutions aligned with customer and market needs.
- Provide
commercial insight on pricing, positioning, branding, margin, and account
strategy.
- Prepare
and deliver executive business presentations, strategic account reviews, and
customer growth plans.
- Monitor
and analyze sales performance, report results to leadership, forecast demand,
and adjust strategies to achieve targets.
- Lead
the commercial process from opportunity development and technical evaluation
through negotiation, execution, and customer implementation, ensuring effective
cross-functional coordination.

Skills Required
