We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Regional Sales Manager to lead our U100 Sales Team across the Southeast Region. This sales leadership role is responsible for managing a team of in‑market Sales Executives, driving sales performance, and fostering a high‑performance culture. The ideal candidate will bring deep producer‑facing experience, strong coaching capabilities, and a passion for developing talent to exceed growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership (50%)
- Directly manage a team of Sales Executives across the Southeast Regional Sales Offices, including Atlanta and Tampa.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development planning.
- Conduct regular one‑on‑ones, ride‑alongs (virtual or in‑person), and pipeline reviews to ensure accountability and growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and results.
Market & Territory Influence (25%)
- Apply strong knowledge of the Southeast EB market to identify opportunities, competitive dynamics, and influential producers across Atlanta, Tampa, and surrounding territories.
- Partner effectively with key brokers, consultants, GA partners, and other distribution stakeholders to activate growth opportunities.
- Leverage market insights — including competitive positioning and product trends — to accelerate new business momentum and elevate Hartford’s presence in priority markets.
- Lead territory planning that optimizes visibility, influence, and production impact.
Monitoring Results & Feedback Loops (15%)
- Collaborate with Employee Benefits (EB) teams to implement feedback loops centered on the agency experience.
- Use feedback to inform future iterations of the agency offer and improve operational execution.
Strategic Initiatives & Market Development (10%)
- Support execution of national and regional sales strategies, including dental and vision product expansion, API integration, and special agency programs.
- Represent the Southeast Region in leadership forums and contribute to broader U100 initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in front‑line sales management, preferably within Employee Benefits or Group Insurance, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of agency distribution models and territory management.
- Demonstrated success in coaching and developing sales talent.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to travel within the Southeast Region as needed.
- Candidate must reside within the Southeast Region, preferably in metro Atlanta or metro Tampa.
- Hybrid work arrangement: remote, in‑office, and field travel.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
