Job Summary:

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving high levels of customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets for turnkey solutions  and stand alone machines, with the potential to support sales of more complex systems in collaboration with Product Specialists. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Sales Manager manages and nurtures customer relationships, proactively identifying opportunities and delivering value adding solutions that enhance uptime, performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership. The role requires strong commercial focus, frequent customer interaction, and the ability to translate customer insights into actionable recommendations.
The candidate should have experience managing local agents or distributors, ensuring proper market coverage, opportunity follow-up, reporting discipline, and alignment with JBT Marel’s commercial processes.

Job Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Business Management

• Serve as the customer advocate and trusted advisor within the focus market.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through frequent visits and effective communication.
• Draw up tactical and operational plans for assigned customers.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and execute appropriate actions to enhance the customer experience.
• Manage escalations effectively and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain a strong customer focus to support organizational goals related to growth, sales, profitability, and service quality.
• Development of customer relationships with key decision-makers in meat and poultry processing plants.

Sales & Opportunity Management

• Sales responsibility for the Protein division, focused on Meat and Poultry customers in Thailand and Vietnam.

• Coverage of primary and secondary processing solutions.

• Achieve agreed financial targets through proactive sales of turnkey solutions and stand alone machines.
• Analyze customer performance, needs, and opportunities, translating insights into solution proposals.
• Manage and maintain an up to date sales pipeline, including opportunity status and follow up activities.
• Collaborate closely with regional sales front office and sales back office to enhance customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
• Facilitate strong relationships with industry and product experts, driving cross border synergies.
• Identification and development of new business opportunities in the assigned territory.

Data & Market Analysis

• Analyze customer data, technical market trends, and competitor insights to provide valuable feedback to the service organization and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Provide performance analysis, knowledge, and recommendations aligned with customer expectations for reliability, uptime, and cost of ownership.

General
• Management, support, and development of local agents to ensure effective commercial execution.
• Monitoring of agent performance, pipeline quality, and customer follow-up.

• Travel frequently within the region and internationally, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Recognized training in sales and/or account management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in selling services or capital equipment, experience in meat and/or poultry processing equipment sales strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of primary and secondary processing applications within the protein industry.

• Experience managing agents, distributors, or indirect sales channels required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Solid understanding of systematic maintenance principles and value adding service solutions.
• Ability to build long term client relationships.
• Understanding of customer experience metrics and ability to translate insights into organizational feedback and action.
• Self motivated, customer focused, and able to manage time effectively.
• Analytical, organized, goal oriented, and results driven.

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Experience working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment is an advantage.
