What you will do:
As a Sales Manager, Controls, you will drive the adoption of Johnson Controls’ BMS and controls technologies across Malaysia’s data center ecosystem. You will engage with top hyperscalers, global and regional data center operators, EPCs, consultants, and developers to position JCI solutions early in design cycles and influence critical engineering decisions.
You will:
- Drive BMS growth in the data center sector by engaging early with key consultants, EPCs, and owners, positioning JCI cooling solutions in design/specifications, and influencing hyperscaler regional teams to secure procurement and pre‑qualification.
- Achieve assigned annual sales and gross margin targets
- Prepare technical proposals, system designs, tenders and quotations
- Conduct product presentations and solution demonstrations to customers
- Negotiate commercial terms and secure contracts in line with company policies
- Maintain strong pipeline management and provide accurate sales forecasting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and pricing strategies
- Support project execution teams during handover and participate in key client meetings when required
How you will do it:
- Employ a consultative, engineering‑driven sales approach aligned with DC needs (efficiency, uptime, scalability, delivery certainty)
- Influence key technical decisions during pre‑design, design freeze, and tender stages
- Clearly articulate how Johnson Controls reduces downtime risk, enhances cooling performance, and improves PUE/WUE compliance through integrated controls
- Exhibit strong ownership, technical credibility, and responsiveness
- Ensure timely follow-up on quotations and tenders to improve conversion rates
- Deliver accurate monthly sales forecast and pipeline reports
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in BMS, Controls, ELV, or mission‑critical M&E systems
- Strong understanding of BMS architecture, HVAC controls, chiller plant sequencing, networked controls, and integration protocols (BACnet/IP, Modbus, OPC, API)
- Ability to interpret data center designs, redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N), and monitoring strategies
- Experience engaging consultants, EPCs, and key DC stakeholders
- Experience preparing SOO, points lists, wiring diagrams, and tender documents
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to succeed in project‑based technical sales
Preferred
- Experience working in a multinational environment
- Existing network with key DC stakeholders in consultants, contractors and developers in Malaysia
- Familiarity with Metasys, Facility Explorer, CCT/SCT tools, or other enterprise‑class control platforms
- Knowledge of DC‑specific monitoring standards, cybersecurity controls, and integration best practices
