What to Expect

Heron Power builds cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. We aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.

Our first focus is to build better converters (inverters & rectifiers) to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads to the grid. Heron Power’s leadership team is made up of seasoned veterans who have designed and shipped gigawatts of power conversion products over the past decade.

We understand that no one individual knows everything. We will all learn a lot together and from each other. We strive to build a collaborative, enriching environment conducive to personal, technical, and career growth. You can expect to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, driven by first principles engineering, solving difficult problems.

How You Will Contribute
  • Manage a portfolio of IPP accounts: account plans, relationship mapping, and individual quota attainment.

  • Source, qualify, and close opportunities with IPPs and utility-scale developers, from first meeting to signed purchase order.

  • Support commercial negotiations on pricing, delivery, warranty, and performance terms, working with the Head of Sales, legal, and operations.

  • Capture account-level technical and commercial requirements and route them to Solutions Engineering for product prioritization.

  • Contribute to the go-to-market playbook: positioning, objection handling, and repeatable sales motions.

  • Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene and forecast accuracy in the CRM, and report bookings and win/loss to the Head of Sales.

What You Will Bring
  • Commercial Ownership: You have carried a number and hit it. You measure yourself by bookings, not activity, and you do not need a manager to tell you which deal matters most this week.

  • Technically Credible: You can hold your own in a conversation with a developer's engineering team and earn their trust without overpromising.

  • Grit: You are willing to do the unglamorous work, from the first cold introduction to the last line of a term sheet, because you understand how it powers the bigger picture.

  • Analytically Minded: You build your own pricing and project economics models, and you can defend the assumptions behind them.

Must-Have Requirements
  • 6 to 8 years in sales, business development, or commercial roles, including direct experience selling capital equipment or hardware into utility-scale power projects.

  • Working relationships across the IPP and utility-scale developer landscape, with a track record of carrying and hitting an individual quota.

  • Self-starter with a bias for action, who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment and can sell effectively before the collateral and process are fully established.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing engineering, operations, and executive teams. Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, project sites, and industry events.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Prior experience selling inverters, power electronics or new energy hardware products to first-of-a-kind deployments.

  • Familiarity with utility-scale project development, procurement, and commissioning.

  • Understanding of medium-voltage systems and applications in renewable energy or data centers.

  • Experience selling at an early-stage hardware company, where the process and collateral did not yet exist.

If you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Join us in accelerating the electrification of everything at Heron Power.

Heron Power provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits.
