This role sits at the centre of the Mobile Experience (MX) Division within Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland. As Strategy, Operations & Supply Chain Director, you will lead the teams responsible for Strategy & Business Management, Consumer & Market Insights and Supply Chain, providing the strategic direction, operational governance and execution capability required to deliver Samsung's commercial ambitions. Acting as the control tower for the MX business, you will connect long-term strategy with day-to-day execution, ensuring leadership decisions are informed by robust insight, business performance is proactively managed and customers receive the right products at the right time.
This is a critical leadership role, shaping how the organisation plans, prioritises and performs. You will work directly with the UK Leadership Team and regional headquarters to define strategic priorities, drive operational excellence and build the capabilities required to deliver sustainable growth across Smartphones, Tablets, Wearables, Audio and Ecosystem products. As a senior leader, you will influence major business decisions, sponsor strategic transformation initiatives and ensure the organisation maintains a clear focus on commercial performance, customer experience and operational execution.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

Strategy & Business Management

  • Define and maintain the mid and long-term strategic direction of the UK & Ireland MX business, ensuring alignment with European and Global priorities.
  • Lead annual business planning, long-range planning and strategic review processes, translating business objectives into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the UK Leadership Team, providing insight, challenge and recommendations to support key business decisions.
  • Own the governance framework for business performance, ensuring clear visibility of revenue, profitability, market share, operational KPIs and strategic objectives.
  • Lead executive performance reviews, business reporting and operational governance processes to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Manage and prioritise strategic initiatives that accelerate growth, improve competitiveness and strengthen Samsung's market position.
  • Lead relationships with external research agencies, consultancies and insight partners, ensuring the business maintains a market-leading understanding of customer behaviour and market dynamics.
  • Sponsor and lead cross-functional taskforces established to address critical business challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop future organisational capabilities by embedding best practice across strategy development, performance management and business governance.

Operations

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision across the operational functions of the MX business, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities and execution.
  • Drive the operating rhythm of the UK MX business, ensuring effective alignment across commercial, operational and strategic planning cycles.
  • Champion data-driven decision making through the development of reporting tools, performance dashboards and business analytics capabilities.
  • Lead cross-functional transformation programmes focused on simplification, automation and operational excellence.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance and European Headquarters to ensure cohesive execution of strategic priorities.
  • Ensure the organisation maintains strong planning discipline, governance standards and accountability across all business functions.
  • Drive process improvements that increase organisational effectiveness, improve decision-making quality and reduce complexity.
  • Establish scalable business processes, governance frameworks and reporting structures that support future growth.

Supply Chain & Planning

  • Lead UK & Ireland logistics and distribution functions, ensuring effective demand planning, supply planning, inventory management and fulfilment performance across all channels.
  • Drive forecasting excellence through robust planning processes, scenario modelling and cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Sales and Headquarters.
  • Balance customer requirements, commercial priorities and operational constraints to optimise business outcomes while maintaining healthy inventory levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels and customer fulfilment performance.
  • Ensure strong collaboration between commercial teams and supply chain functions to maximise revenue opportunities and minimise operational risk.
  • Develop planning capabilities, tools and governance that improve visibility, responsiveness and execution quality across the business.

  • Define a clear vision, key focus areas and operating principles for the Strategy, Operations & Supply Chain organisation, communicating regularly to ensure alignment and engagement.
  • Lead and develop senior managers across Strategy & Business Management, Consumer & Market Insights and Supply Chain functions, providing coaching, support and accountability.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement and commercial impact.
  • Ensure clarity, governance and consistency across all people management processes, including objective setting, performance reviews, development planning and talent management.
  • Build organisational capability through succession planning, mentoring and leadership development programmes.

  • Ensure compliance with SEUK policies, processes and governance standards while maintaining a strong focus on employee engagement and wellbeing.
