This position is responsible for new sales activities within the entire state of Idaho, with success measured through membership growth, revenue generation, and the strength of broker and customer relationships.
Location & travel
This position requires a local presence in Idaho and offers flexibility to work hybrid within an Idaho location. #LI-Hybrid
Travel and attendance at client meetings, broker engagements, conferences, and community events are required, including occasional participation outside standard business hours.
To be considered for this opportunity, you have
Experience
Six (6) years of complex sales, account management, business development, or client relationship management experience involving enterprise-level products or services within health insurance, employee benefits or healthcare industry.
Experience developing and managing strategic relationships with brokers, consultants, employer groups, and executive-level partners.
Blue Cross Blue Shield plan experience preferred.
Successful candidates bring a proven history of achieving sales goals, managing complex sales cycles, influencing executive decision-makers, and developing long-term client partnerships.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent work experience (two years of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of college).
License
State of Idaho Resident Insurance License, or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
What you'll do
You'll advance Blue Cross of Idaho's growth strategy by:
Developing and executing sales strategies for assigned market segments, and key accounts.
Building and maintaining trusted relationships with brokers, consultants, employer groups, and executive stakeholders, including C-suite leaders.
Driving membership growth and revenue objectives through strategic account planning and consultative selling.
Developing multi-year strategic sales plans that establish performance objectives, key milestones, and growth opportunities.
Leading all phases of the sales lifecycle, including prospecting, RFP responses, finalist presentations, negotiations, and implementation coordination.
Consulting with clients, brokers, and business partners regarding product offerings, benefit solutions, plan performance, and service capabilities.
Leading solution development efforts by collaborating with underwriting, product, operations, account management, analytics, and other internal business partners.
Extracting and analyzing market, membership, and performance data to identify trends and recommend targeted growth strategies.
Designing and delivering compelling sales presentations to prospective and existing clients.
Monitoring market conditions, competitive activity, and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks.
Maintaining accurate sales activities, client communications, pipeline information, and forecasting data within designated sales systems.
Participating in industry, community, and professional organizations to strengthen market presence and generate business opportunities.
Ensuring exceptional customer experiences that support client satisfaction and long-term partnership success.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $106,762 to $160,144. The position is eligible to participate in a sales incentive pay program, which is variable based on an individual’s performance. The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data.

Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
