Job Description:

Accounting Consulting Business Development Sales Executive

The Accounting Consulting Business Development Sales Executive is responsible for driving new business development and revenue growth through the sale of accounting consulting, finance transformation, outsourced accounting, and ERP consulting solutions. This individual will focus on developing strategic client relationships, identifying business challenges, and positioning tailored professional services solutions that support clients’ finance and accounting operations.

The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with experience selling accounting consulting services, managed services, ERP consulting, and/or NetSuite-related solutions. This role requires strong business development skills, executive presence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and delivery teams to close complex professional services engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities related to accounting consulting, finance and accounting managed services, and ERP consulting solutions
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and strategic opportunities
  • Meet or exceed revenue and sales performance goals
  • Execute proactive prospecting strategies through networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic outreach
  • Build relationships with CFOs, controllers, finance executives, accounting leaders, and ERP/technology decision-makers
  • Attend industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings to expand market presence and generate leads

Consultative Selling & Client Engagement

  • Understand client business challenges and align service offerings to support operational and financial objectives
  • Position solutions related to accounting consulting, outsourced accounting support, finance transformation, and ERP optimization services
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter professionals and delivery teams to develop tailored client solutions
  • Lead client presentations, proposal discussions, and statement of work (SOW) development
  • Communicate business value and return on investment through a consultative sales approach

Relationship Management & Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and expanded engagements
  • Partner cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, recruiting, and delivery teams to support successful client outcomes
  • Maintain relationships with strategic alliance partners and professional networks
  • Provide market feedback and industry insights to support sales strategy and service development

Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management

  • Develop and execute territory and account-based sales strategies
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and client demand to identify growth opportunities
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and activity tracking within CRM systems
  • Analyze sales performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, consultative sales, or account management within professional services, accounting consulting, ERP consulting, or finance and accounting services
  • Demonstrated success developing and closing complex professional services engagements
  • Experience selling accounting consulting services, managed services, outsourced accounting solutions, and/or ERP consulting services preferred
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP platforms strongly preferred
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior finance and business leaders
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $94,200.00 - $193,800.00 per year.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in business development or sales within professional services, ERP/technology consulting, or finance & accounting services
  • Proven success in closing complex, consultative deals and achieving sales quotas
  • Strong understanding of ERP ecosystems (NetSuite preferred) and/or finance & accounting operations
  • Experience selling managed services, team-based delivery models, or outsourcing solutions preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
