The Role

Mimecast is seeking a motivated and technically adept SMB Sales Engineer to join our dynamic sales team. As an SMB Sales Engineer at Mimecast, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission to empower small and medium-sized businesses with robust email and collaboration security solutions. Leveraging your technical expertise and customer-centric approach, you will collaborate closely with sales teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights will not only enhance customer understanding but also foster lasting relationships. What You'll Do:

  • Technical Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the sales process, addressing customer inquiries and demonstrating product capabilities.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct engaging product demonstrations and presentations tailored to the needs of SMB clients, showcasing how Mimecast solutions can solve their specific challenges.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their requirements and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales representatives to develop strategies for targeting SMB clients and assist in the preparation of proposals and RFPs.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather customer feedback and insights to relay to the product development team, contributing to the continuous improvement of Mimecast offerings.

What You'll Bring:

  • Technical Experience: A foundational background in a technical role is essential, ideally within sales engineering, technical support, or a closely related field. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric approach to addressing client needs.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, supporting both sales and technical teams.
  • Hybrid Working Flexibility: This is a hybrid role based in our Lexington, MA office.

The US base salary range for this position is $54,000- $108,000 base + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus, incentive plans, and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
