Bilingual ProjectSight Sales Engineer Job Description

The Sales Engineer (SE) is part of the sales team and specializes in providing technical demonstrations of software solutions before a sale is made. Trimble offers enterprise-level software solutions for the commercial construction industry across the United States and Latin America. In this role, the SE is responsible for delivering expert knowledge and conducting solution-based demonstrations to support the sales team and promote Trimble's software offerings in the market.

What You Will Do

The typical duties for this position include delivering inspirational presentations, conducting complex prototype demonstrations, and providing follow-up support throughout the sales cycle. This role involves collaborating closely with the sales management team and members of both direct and customer sales teams. The sales engineer will ensure that Trimble products are accurately represented and will effectively address any individual client questions or concerns.

  • This is a bilingual position requiring fluency in both Spanish and English, with expected travel within the Latin American region.

  • The sales engineer supports the Trimble sales team by assisting with presentations and product demonstrations. They consult with potential clients to help identify which software solutions best meet their business needs. As experts in the discovery process, sales engineers are skilled at documenting and resolving critical business issues.

  • Possesses extensive experience in the construction industry, with a specific focus on major workflows in construction project management and field data capture solutions. Demonstrates a deep understanding of how construction companies collect and manage data to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and enhance decision-making processes.   

  • Preferably has prior experience in a pre-sales role, ideally as a sales engineer or in a similar customer success position, and/or experience working for a general contractor or construction manager in Latin America.

  • Proven ability to inspire team members to reach their potential.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with proven judgment in complex situations, adept at documenting product functionality requirements and desired workflow outcomes.

  • The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and effectively handles frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. They manage confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion, diligence, and good judgment, representing Trimble with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.

  • The sales engineer utilizes their extensive software and industry knowledge to present critical success factors that validate the proposed software solutions. They are responsible for creating complex, client-specific cross-application prototype presentations.

  • Additionally, they assist with various demonstration and deployment strategies across Trimble's Project Management workflow solutions. They provide expertise in understanding and addressing the needs of executives, such as CEOs, CFOs, and COOs. This role also includes offering construction industry expertise to address client issues and facilitate sales.

  • The sales engineer collaborates closely with Trimble consulting to document process gaps, product issues, reporting requirements, and other solutions or workarounds. They work with various teams and departments within Trimble to enhance their product knowledge and identify effective ways to convey the product’s value to customers.

  • Finally, they help maintain the master software presentation library and sales tools.

What Skills & Experience Should You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, MIS, finance, business, or construction-specific degree plus in-depth experience in software implementation consulting or software support or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Extensive knowledge in project management or field entry software solutions Knowledge or experience with  Trimble ERP Software or similar ERP solutions would be an advantage.

  • Deep experience in the construction industry and an understanding of common document workflows specific to Latin America would be very beneficial.

  • This position requires up to 25% travel.  The successful candidate will be willing and able to meet travel requirements. A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to qualify for a US Passport are required.  Also required is the ability to qualify for a company credit card or possess a personal credit card with sufficient limits to charge travel expenses.

  • Experience using or training/consulting in Trimble Software, ProjctSight by Trimble, Trimble Connect, CMiC, Sage 100,300, PENTA, COINS, Accumatica, Foundation, PROCORE, or other construction-specific project management solutions is preferred.

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
