Position Overview
Reporting to the Division Sales Manager, the Sales Engineer’s primary responsibility is to generate revenue and gross profit through the sale of material handling systems. They are the main interface between the Engineered Solutions group and its customers - both end users and Account Managers. The Sales Engineer will work with the Account Managers to identify opportunities, and with the Engineering group to design and implement systems that address our customers’ needs. The territory for this role will be the state of Kentucky.
Key Responsibilities
- Team with Account Managers to identify and address opportunities to improve the operations of current and prospective customers.
- Promote solutions including conveyor, storage rack systems, shelving, mezzanines, modular offices, controls, pick modules, automated storage and retrieval systems, software interface, and robotics.
- Develop and maintain key customer relationships.
- Create and execute target account plans in conjunction with Account Managers.
- Perform application/ site surveys.
- Generate concept designs in collaboration with Engineering.
- Develop and present proposals.
- Develop ROI to support proposal.
- Present capabilities to increase awareness and cultivate prospective customers.
- Assist in training Account Managers to identify and develop opportunities.
- Ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction upon project completion.
Qualifications
- BA/ BS in engineering, business, sales and marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum (3) years of material handling systems experience with dealership, integrator, equipment manufacturer or in warehouse/ distribution environment (operations, engineering, project management) preferred.
- Proven track record of sales success.
- Must thrive in team environment.
- Minimum (3) years’ experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Must have ability to align objectives with other team members to include engineering, other sales professionals, and project managers.
- Must have ability to establish comprehensive project schedules and budgets as required.
- Must possess exceptional sales acumen and drive with a strong engineering mindset, with ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to clients while driving product adoption and revenue growth.
- Must reside in location allowing for effective coverage of the state of Kentucky – preferably in Northern Kentucky or Greater Louisville area.
