Job Description

You in the Role and on the Team:

As an experienced Sales Engineer, you will work closely with Sales to design and implement safe and efficient material handling systems automation within manufacturing or distribution environments. Your critical role involves creating solutions for customers by optimizing the movement, storage, and control of materials, products, and equipment using Prime Robotics' robotic systems and software. You need a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency. This is a client-facing role!

A Day in the Life:

  • Analyze existing material handling systems and processes at customer/prospect sites to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Work closely with Sales Executives to design and implement new material handling systems, including automated storage and retrieval systems and robotic systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed material handling projects.
  • Present project designs and rationale to customers ranging from CXO to manual picker.
  • Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure the proper functioning and safety of proposed customer systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations teams during the implementation and operation of customer deployments, ensuring a successful handoff to the implementation team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in material handling and automation.
  • Evaluate the performance of material handling systems to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to select and assemble solutions for Prime Robotics customers.


Qualifications

Key Success Factors:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and concepts related to material handling systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customer prospects. This is a customer-facing role.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues related to material handling systems.
  • Strong project management skills to effectively plan and execute material handling projects within given timelines and budgets.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards related to material handling systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience in material handling engineering or a similar role.
  • Professional certifications in material handling or related fields are a plus.
