Description

About us:

Founded in Brooklyn in 1918 by Robert Lee Johannsen, Lee Spring has grown into a global manufacturer with locations across the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia — stocking more than 25,000 catalog products alongside custom-engineered solutions.

If you're looking for a special place to build or grow your career, you've found it. As a Sales Engineer at Lee Spring, you won't just sell a catalog part number — you'll act as a customer's technical partner, translating force, motion, and fatigue requirements into a spring or wire form solution that works in their application.

The Sales Engineer is a customer-facing, technically fluent role responsible for growing new business and expanding existing accounts by delivering value-based spring and formed wire solutions. You'll serve as the connective tissue between sales, engineering, and operations — making sure every solution that reaches a customer is manufacturable, cost-effective, and built to perform.

What You’ll Do:

Customer-Facing & Business Development

  • Research and identify new account opportunities within assigned territories
  • Build long-term relationships with customer engineering and purchasing teams
  • Confer with customers to assess application needs — force, motion, fatigue resistance, and durability

Technical Estimation & Quoting

  • Prepare technical estimates and formal quotations that balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and lead time
  • Develop, present, and respond to proposals, including RFP responses for industry-specific solutions

Design & Program Support

  • Support spring and formed wire design work in partnership with internal engineering
  • Guide projects through prototyping, testing, PPAP, and customer qualification
  • Support new program launches with analytics-driven problem solving and continuous improvement

Challenges You’ll Navigate

  • Winning trust with engineers who need precision, not a sales pitch
  • Moving fast on quotes while making sure what's quoted can be built
  • Managing a full project lifecycle — from first conversation through production launch — without losing momentum
