The Role
Drives sales and business development for assigned marine and shipyard-related products and services. Responsibilities include identifying leads, visiting customers, obtaining enquiries, coordinating quotations, preparing proposals, negotiating and closing deals, monitoring competitors and market developments, developing products, maintaining client relationships, and meeting annual sales KPIs. The role requires collaboration with shipyards, manufacturers, agencies, vessel owners, and internal estimation teams across Qatar and the wider region.

-    Advise the Manager on all possible new leads and updated status of existing enquiries / client visits /contracts / sales pipeline;
-    Coordinate business development and sales activities and ensure timely completion of offer submissions through the estimation department;
-    Advice on any training needed for the staff in order to support the sales of the assigned products.

Responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities
•    Interact with the assigned customers in Qatar and abroad to understand their needs and provide solutions to them;
•    Identify and develop new business development opportunities, through existing and potential new clients in order to drive more revenue and larger market share;
•    Frequently visit all the major process industries, organisations and major plants in Qatar;
•    Obtain enquiries, coordinate the quotations submission and close deals effectively and efficiently with clients and successfully convert them into sales revenue for Milaha;
•    Develop effective tools, platforms and materials for collecting accurate and relevant intelligence about local and regional markets;
•    Develop new products for the market and expand assigned portfolio;
•    Study and analyse existing competitor prices and products and ensure Milaha is better placed in clients’ eyes in terms of service level and price;
•    Keep a close watch on industry/ market developments within the region and advise Manager - Sales & Marketing on the same;
•    Record and report sales and order information in order to ensure that orders are compliant with Milaha’s sales procedures;
•    Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients via meetings, telephone calls and emails;
•    Create a detailed proposal documents, in order to propose a formal bidding process for prospective client;
•    Advise on forthcoming product developments and propose special promotions;
•    Ensure to work in accordance with the company’s latest strategy, quality, HSE policy and applicable laws and regulation;
•    Hold full accountability for the yearly sales and KPI for the assigned portfolio sales turnover;
•    Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification/Experiences/Skills
Education & Professional Qualification:
-    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marine, or Mechanical .
-    MBA will be preferred.
Professional Experience:
-    4-6 years’ experience in OEM and services sales;
-    Areas of expertise: Marine (shipping or offshore market);shipyard repair and maintenance or shipbuilding 
Geographic Experience:
GCC/Middle East experience is preferred.
Computer Skills:
Good knowledge of MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Oracle Applications
Language Skills:
-    Business fluent English;
-    Arabic will be an added advantage.
Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
-    Strong knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and best practices;
-    Knowledge of Qatar Market and players;
-    Good knowledge of customer segmentation.
 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4-6 years of experience in OEM and services sales
  • Expertise in marine shipping or offshore markets, shipyard repair and maintenance, or shipbuilding
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, and Oracle Applications
