Flowserve is seeking a consultative, industry-connected Sales Engineer to step directly into a high-performing, established Corpus Christi sales territory. This position represents a clean backfill opportunity, meaning you will immediately receive an active, functioning book of business valued between $3 Million and $4 Million in annual target booking potential.
You will serve as the primary commercial and technical anchor for our local customers, managing everything from initial engineering proposals and solution evaluations to downstream turnaround support, component repairs, and quality management. Core Responsibilities
- Territory Commercial Ownership: Manage an active account matrix to meet and exceed an assigned annual booking target between $3M and $4M.
- Embedded Plant Account Management: Maintain routine, planned on-site communication and technical alignment with operators, reliability teams, and engineering leads inside local industrial multi-story facilities.
- Cross-Functional Customer Advocacy: Act as the primary business contact for regional operations, seamlessly managing engineering proposals, product delivery tracking, repair coordination, and warranty resolutions.
- Solution-Based Selling: Leverage technical and financial acumen to demonstrate return on investment (ROI) and lifecycle cost reductions for plant upgrades and hardware switches.
- Internal & Partner Collaboration: Partner directly with off-site application engineers, customer service desks, and localized manufacturing centers to ensure technical submittals perfectly align with client needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
Critical Territory Parameters (Must Haves):
- Local Plant Credibility: Proven, direct experience frequently walking in and out of refineries and chemical plants within the localized Corpus Christi industrial corridor.
- Refinery Asset Familiarity: Strong design and operational familiarity with critical plant hardware—specifically industrial valves, instrumentation, rotating pumps, mechanical seals, or auxiliary Pipes, Valves, and Fittings equipment.
- Geographic Alignment: The candidate must permanently reside in or completely relocate to the Corpus Christi, TX metropolitan area. Familiarity and established technical relationships within this specific local industry track are highly prioritized.
General Qualifications:
- Education & Scope: BS or BA degree in a relevant engineering, business, or technical field is preferred, alongside 3-6 years of progressive industrial sales, account management, or technical operations experience.
- Refinery Environment Capability: Willingness and capability to perform necessary physical actions on-site, including walking expansive plant footprints, lifting components up to 50 lbs, and ascending/descending outdoor structural ladders or staircases.
- Commercial Skills: Demonstrated capability in technical product demonstrations, financial solution structuring, business report generation, and leading formal client update meetings.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Sales experience with Control Valves, Isolation Valves, Digital Positioners, and Valve actuators.
- Experience in the refining, Chemical, Water, Power, and LNG gas, and power industries, including familiarity with valve instrumentation.
- Training in sales techniques, negotiations and business finance
- Demonstrated skills in leading meetings, including setting agendas, preparing, facilitating discussions and assigning follow-up activities
