The Opportunity

At JBT Marel, we're looking for a Sales Engineer.  The Sales Engineer is part of the sales back-office team and is responsible for providing accurate sales quotations and sales orders. Responsibilities also include challenging the input from the sales front-office employees and acting as the gatekeeper of the input that flows to the technical/innovation process. It is expected that this position will demonstrate customer centric approaches.

This position is located within Gainesville, GA .

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for translating technical, technological and commercial information into an accurate quote and order confirmation 
  • Work in compliance with the internal sales process from market to order and order to cash, including change orders)
  • Able to challenge and support the input from the front office sales team starting points and process
  • Responsible for monitoring the preliminary costing and the pre-calculated project margins. Give input on layout designs, frequent contact with internal departments, such as engineering and product/process specialist
  • Responsible for providing quotations, and order confirmations, preparing order confirmation documentation and invoicing where applicable
  • Coordinate technical and/or food technological risks for non-standard solutions
  • Responsible for accuracy of the data in the Company CRM systems (defined for SE role in CRM)

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Must be able to work well with diverse teams
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and be able to learn other applications as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Food Technology is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technological job in the food industry
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal                            
  • Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline

Travel & Location

  • This is a Hybrid role with up to 10% Travel.
