As a Sales Engineer at FMX, you will make a significant impact on driving revenue growth by providing technical support to Account Executives and Account Managers during the FMX sales process, as well as helping to determine innovative new solutions that add value to the product through problem spotting during the sales cycle.
You'll be working in a fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative environment, where you will aid interdepartmental communication by serving as a liaison between the product team and other areas within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products and services to customers and prospective customers
- Support Account Executives and Account Managers with technical demos involving unique workflows, third party integrations, or other new challenges
- Partner with sales executives to plan and execute presentations for enterprise deals
- Participate in on-site demonstrations for enterprise accounts (10-20% Travel)
- Use innovative technology that can be demonstrated during the sales process to drive out additional problem spotting
- Attend and contribute to weekly and quarterly sales meetings and customer success meetings
- Develop trusted relationships with prospects, leveraging knowledge of their business requirements to understand the business needs driving changes to the product
- Attend and contribute to development daily standups and quarterly strategy sessions
- Collect and document competitive intelligence
- Effectively communicate client and prospect needs to the product team for future product enhancements
- Organize themes and trends stated by the prospects during the sales cycle and effectively communicate with the executive and product team
Requirements
Experience & Qualities:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a similar professional role.
- Knowledge of or direct experience in software development.
- Practical experience with building or industrial automation systems.
- Proven ability to integrate various software packages effectively.
- Strong desire to learn new technologies and apply them to real-world business challenges, maintaining high coachability and rapid adaptability.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with excellent task management and organizational abilities.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to quickly establish relationships with others, especially over the phone.
- Effective problem-solving skills used to address prospect and customer issues by actively listening, identifying core needs, and aligning solutions with FMX.

- Offer & Onboarding: Candidates who receive an offer will be required to complete a background check prior to onboarding. New hires are also expected to work onsite at our Columbus, OH office during their first week to complete onboarding and connect with the team in person.
