Job Description

Are you looking to take your career to the next level in a fast-paced, innovative environment? If you are nodding “yes,” then you might just be the person we are looking for at Vanderlande! Join our sales team, where you’ll have the chance to dive into exciting projects and play a key role in shaping solutions that truly make a difference.

What will you be doing?

As our new Sales Engineer, you won’t just be another cog in the machine. Your mission? To dig deep into our customers' needs right from the start and transform those insights into winning technical solutions. Balancing cutting-edge technology with competitive pricing, you’ll be the go-to person for creating concepts that not only meet but exceed expectations.

In this role, you’re not alone—you’ll collaborate closely with our sales managers, tackling everything from the initial pitch to sealing the deal. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the technical and business complexities of each project, ensuring that our proposals stand out in the market. And once the project is secured, you’ll be the bridge to our execution team, making sure that what we promise is what we deliver.

Your responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with the sales manager to craft and execute sales tactics that hit the mark.
  • Address and resolve any commercial or tactical challenges directly with the sales manager, keeping the process smooth and on track.
  • Oversee and coordinate all sales engineering deliverables from the very first bid to the final handover, ensuring everything is aligned and delivered on time.
  • Bring in the right technical experts to help you create the most effective and innovative conceptual designs for our clients.
  • Stay true to the sales strategy by taking the initiative and driving actions that align with our overall goals.
  • Juggle multiple projects across various sales phases without missing a beat, ensuring everything moves forward seamlessly.
  • Lead an internal support team including procurement, planning, concept design, and controls to ensure everyone is working towards the same vision.
  • Listen closely to customer needs, analyse their requirements, and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • Ensure that every procedural step is followed on time, adhering strictly to our sales process checklists, so nothing falls through the cracks.

About the team

The department you will be working in focusses on the development of the Global Parcel segment. We are looking for a Sales Engineer to strengthen and grow our team.

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • You are analytical, with a knack for solving logistics challenges.
  • You are fluent in English, and if you speak German, or a second other language that’s a bonus!

What we offer

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4.300 to € 5.900 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale. On top of your fixed salary you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days).

  • Flexible working hours.

  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office).

  • Commuting allowance, including full reimbursement of travel by public transport.

  • Working from home allowance.

  • Collective pension scheme and discount on additional health insurance.

  • On-site company health centers with a gym, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
