We’re hiring a Commercial Sales Engineer to support mid-market growth across the U.S. West Coast.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in the west coast The position includes frequent regional travel to customer sites, events, and in-person PoVs.

About the Role

As a Commercial Sales Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the customer journey bringing Pentera’s value to life in technical conversations, live demos, proof-of-value evaluations, and ongoing customer engagements.

You’ll work directly with mid-market prospects and customers, supporting the sales cycle end-to-end, and acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout.

Roles & Responsibilities  

  • Demonstrate Cyber Expertise: Act as the technical face of Pentera, with deep knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, infrastructure, and enterprise environments.
  • Lead Technical Conversations: Host discovery sessions, lead in-depth technical demos, and guide prospects through successful PoV processes.
  • Drive Strategy with Sales: Collaborate with Account Executives to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and close deals across the region.
  • Customer Engagement & Expansion: Support technical onboarding and success, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure long-term customer value.
  • Partner with VARs & Channel: Work alongside partners to expand reach and improve technical delivery.
  • Represent Pentera: Join regional conferences, customer visits, and events as a technical representative of the brand.

Travel: Regular travel (up to 30%) across the West Coast to customer sites and industry events.

  • 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, technical account management, or professional services
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Networking and system environments (Linux, Windows, cloud, Active Directory, Docker, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting and infrastructure planning
  • Strong foundation in IT, cybersecurity concepts, and Microsoft network protocols
  • Practical understanding of penetration testing or red teaming (a major advantage)
  • Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP – desirable
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain technical value to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-motivated, structured, team-oriented, and confident in front of customers
