Sales Engineer- Flat Sales
Summary
The Sales and Service Engineer is responsible for the development of SMS’s service business including compiling the scope of work, estimating associated costs, and developing project schedules. Additional responsibilities include on site services to tune combustion systems and furnace mechanical components.

What you'll do
- Works as a point of contact with the customer in the proposal / quoting / services sales phase of the project to identify customer needs.
- Develops the service scope of work. Compiles quotes from man-hour estimates and tools costs and transfers this into a final quotation format as presented to the customer.
- Develop a familiarity with furnace equipment so as to respond to customer maintenance needs. Perform service on equipment such as reheat furnaces, annealing furnaces, burners, fans, heat exchangers, and convective coolers.
- Act as first line of contact within the customer facility to identify retrofit and new equipment opportunities.
- Assist in commissioning of new equipment.
- Extensive Travel is required.
What you'll need
- Hand-on aptitude with combustion equipment and controls.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a group.
- Engineering Technician or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Understanding of NFPA safety code is required.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus.
- Business travel to customers’ sites and vendor workshops will be required. Physical Demands

Skills Required
- Hands-on aptitude with combustion equipment and controls
