The Role
The Sales Enablement Manager will develop marketing strategies and collaborate with customers to enhance revenue for MariaDB's database offerings, targeting SMBs and Fortune 500 accounts.
Summary Generated by Built In

MariaDB is making a big impact on the world. Whether you’re checking your bank account, buying a coffee, shopping online, making a phone call, listening to music, taking out a loan, or ordering takeout – MariaDB is the backbone of applications used every day. Companies small and large, including 75% of the Fortune 500 run MariaDB, touching the lives of billions of people. With massive reach through Linux distributions, enterprise deployments, and public clouds, MariaDB is uniquely positioned as the leading database for modern application development.

We are looking for a high-energy, strategic Global Sales Enablement Manager to bridge the gap between our product, marketing, and sales teams. Your mission is simple: ensure our sales force has the tools, content, and training they need to turn "maybe" into "yes" more efficiently.  If you enjoy breaking down complex product features into winning talk tracks and thrive on seeing others hit their quotas, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training & Onboarding: Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs to get new hires "ramp-ready" in record time.
  • Program GTM Development: Be part of the cross-functional team designing new programs that help grow MariaDB's customer base and customer success
  • Technical Curriculum Development: Translate complex database features (distributed SQL, high availability, and temporal tables) into value-based selling points and "Why MariaDB" talk tracks.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Develop and maintain "Battlecards" specifically designed to win against incumbents like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS Aurora.
  • Sales Tech Stack Management: Optimize our use of CRM (Salesforce) and enablement tools (Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Zoominfo, Congism, Clari, and more) to streamline the sales workflow.
  • Strategy & Coaching: Work with Sales and Technical leadership to identify performance needs through data analysis and conduct workshops on areas that need improvement.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as the "voice of sales" to the Product and Marketing teams, ensuring our roadmap and messaging align with the realities of the market.
  • MariaDB University: Utilize cutting edge technology, including MariaDB University, to deliver training programs that include key metrics: engagement, completion, certification.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years in Sales Enablement, Sales Training, or a high-performing Sales role (SaaS experience preferred).
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation skills; ability to command a room (or a Zoom call).
  • Analytical Mind: Ability to translate CRM data into actionable training insights.
  • Technical/Product:  Experience selling database, analytics, and open source software + services.  Proven ability to take technical documentation and turn it into a compelling 3-slide executive pitch.
  • Process: Expert-level knowledge of CRM (reporting, sales workflows) and sales engagement platforms.
  • Empathy: A deep understanding of the daily grind and challenges of a modern sales professional.

Compensation:

The annual anticipated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is USD $120,000 - $135,000.

Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies.

In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than the job description as posted. Salary is one component of MariaDB’s total rewards package, which (subject to eligibility requirements) may include bonuses, health insurance, life, and disability insurance, funds toward professional development resources, Flexible Paid Time Off (FPTO), paid holidays, and parental leave, a massive degree of flexibility and freedom, and more.
