About Kolomoni

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution (Gambia) is a microfinance institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of The Gambia. We are a subsidiary of CapitalSage Holdings, a Nigerian-founded conglomerate established in 2014, operating across fintech, agribusiness, FMCG, healthcare and export trading, with a presence in multiple African countries and global markets.

We exist for the part of the market formal banking has largely passed over: traders, agents, merchants, MSMEs and ordinary earners who run real economic activity without a bank behind them. We serve them through personal banking and wallets, business banking, corporate and ecosystem payments, agency banking and merchant acceptance — delivered through a growing branch and service-centre network and the field teams behind it.

We are in a build phase. The structure, the propositions and the standards are being set now, by the people joining now.

About the role

Most of what looks like a product problem in this market is a comprehension problem. A customer who does not understand a charge, a limit or a PIN will either stop transacting or be defrauded. You are our answer to both.

You will build the education — materials, roadshows, merchant clinics, community sessions — and you will train the field force that sells to people every day. It is a travelling, talking job: markets, community halls, service centres, in English and in local languages, with audiences who often have good reason to distrust a financial institution.

What you will do

  • Develop simple, accurate and accessible customer, business and sales education materials.
  • Adapt content for English and the relevant local languages, and for low-literacy audiences.
  • Deliver product, process, KYC/KYB, fraud-awareness and customer-protection sensitisation.
  • Plan and run roadshows, merchant clinics, community sessions and service-centre demonstrations.
  • Support field-force induction, launch readiness and refresher training, and run knowledge checks and certification.
  • Equip Business Relationship Officers and Direct Sales Agents to explain the proposition accurately in the field.
  • Coordinate approved digital and physical campaign content with Marketing and the business leads.
  • Collect the questions, objections and misunderstandings that keep recurring, and rework the material until they stop.
  • Track coverage, attendance and certification, and measure what actually changed afterwards.

Requirements
  • A diploma or first degree in communications, marketing, education, business, media or a related field.
  • One to three years in training, customer education, field marketing, digital content, community engagement, sales enablement or financial services.
  • Experience presenting to a mixed audience in person — not only producing material for someone else to present.
  • Fluency in the relevant local languages, and real comfort in a market or community setting.
  • The discipline to say a complex thing simply without making it wrong. Product, pricing and credit terms are never paraphrased into something easier to say.
  • Adult learning, product communication, consumer protection, and basic banking, payments and fraud awareness.

Skills Required

  • Diploma or first degree in communications, marketing, education, business, media, or a related field
  • One to three years of experience in training, customer education, field marketing, digital content, community engagement, sales enablement, or financial services
  • Experience presenting to mixed audiences in person
  • Fluency in relevant local languages
  • Comfort working in market or community settings
  • Ability to explain complex information simply and accurately
  • Knowledge of adult learning, product communication, consumer protection, basic banking, payments, and fraud awareness
