Position Summary

We are seeking a driven and strategic Sales Director UK to lead our commercial efforts in the United Kingdom. Based in London, this role will focus on developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and securing contracts with key market participants including utilities, IPPs, developers, EPCs, and financial stakeholders. The role will also help shape the broader market narrative for tracker adoption in the UK by engaging with key industry stakeholders and promoting the value of advanced solar tracking solutions in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

The UK market is entering a phase where project economics, grid constraints, capture price optimisation, and co-location strategies are becoming increasingly important. As trackers become more competitive with fixed-tilt solutions, they can unlock greater value through improved generation profiles, especially in shoulder hours. The ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to challenge conventional fixed-tilt assumptions and finds smart, innovative ways to influence and convince all relevant stakeholders, including utilities, IPPs, developers, EPCs, third-party engineers, lenders, insurers, and public-sector decision-makers.

You will report directly to the VP, Business Development and Sales Europe, and work closely with sales, product, marketing, and operations teams to grow our footprint in the UK and deliver exceptional value to our customers and our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the business development and sales strategy for the UK market, aligned with Nextpower’s regional and global objectives, with a strong focus on value-based positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, IPPs, solar developers, EPCs, advisors, and financial stakeholders across the UK market.
  • Identify, qualify, and advance strategic sales opportunities from early engagement through contract negotiation and closure, in close collaboration with the wider sales team.
  • Monitor market trends, policy developments, grid dynamics, and competitive positioning to identify new business opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop concepts, execution plans, and partnerships for industry studies and market-shaping initiatives that support tracker adoption, such as fixed-tilt versus tracker comparisons, PV plus BESS co-location strategies, and yield optimisation analyses.
  • Work with UK and European industry associations, relevant policy stakeholders, and other influencers to support policies and frameworks that encourage tracker adoption and better recognise plant value optimisation.
  • Collaborate with PR and marketing teams to localise messaging, strengthen market visibility, and drive participation in key industry events, conferences, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Represent Nextpower at major customer meetings, conferences, and industry forums in the UK and selected European markets.
  • Provide market feedback to internal product, strategy, and operations teams to help refine our commercial approach and support product differentiation.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience, ideally in solar, renewable energy, power infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Proven success in developing strategic client relationships and closing complex utility-scale PV or energy infrastructure deals.
  • Strong network within the UK solar ecosystem, including utilities, IPPs, developers, EPCs, advisors, and financial stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, ideally with experience shaping market-entry or adoption strategies through analysis, partnerships, and policy engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish; additional European languages are an advantage but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the UK and occasionally across Europe.
Why Join Nextpower?
  • Be part of a global leader in solar tracking and energy transition solutions.
  • Join a high-performing, mission-driven team with strong growth potential.
  • Competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, and benefits.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of clean energy in one of Europe’s most dynamic renewable energy markets.

At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants. Our comprehensive portfolio enables faster project delivery, higher performance, and greater reliability, helping our customers capture the full value of solar power. Our talented worldwide teams are redefining how solar power plants are designed, built, and operated every day with smart technology, data-driven insights, and advanced automation. Together, we’re building the foundation for the world’s next generation of clean energy infrastructure.
