The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a critical role in driving the growth of Ryan's Innovation Funding practice in Portugal. Reporting to the Manager, Sales – Innovation Funding, the SDR is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective clients, generating new business opportunities, and building a high-quality sales pipeline.
This role serves as the first point of contact for potential clients and is focused on creating meaningful conversations with senior decision-makers across finance, innovation, tax, and executive leadership functions. The SDR will work closely with the Innovation Funding sales and delivery teams to support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of Ryan's presence in the Portuguese market.

Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and engage prospective clients through outbound prospecting activities, including phone, email, LinkedIn, networking events, and targeted sales campaigns.
- Research companies, industries, and key stakeholders to uncover opportunities aligned with Ryan's Innovation Funding solutions.
- Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities for the Innovation Funding sales team.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and opportunities.
Sales Support & Qualification
- Conduct initial outreach and discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and assess qualification criteria.
- Schedule meetings and coordinate introductions between prospects and the Innovation Funding sales team.
- Support the development and execution of targeted business development campaigns.
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospects throughout the sales process.
CRM & Pipeline Management
- Accurately maintain prospect, activity, and pipeline information within Salesforce and other internal systems.
- Track outreach activities, meeting outcomes, and pipeline progression.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales development activities and results.
Market Intelligence
- Develop a strong understanding of Ryan's Innovation Funding services, including R&D tax incentives, grants, and related advisory solutions.
- Stay informed on market developments, government funding programs, and industry trends.
- Share market intelligence and prospect feedback with the broader sales and leadership teams.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, lead generation, recruitment, customer-facing roles, or related commercial environments.
- Experience in prospecting and engaging business decision-makers is preferred.
- Experience within professional services, consulting, technology, financial services, or innovation-related sectors is advantageous.
