Position Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role is an immersive, structured development experience designed to train and grow the next generation of business development professionals committed to a career in sales.
SDRs receive hands‑on training in the core elements of new business development, client outreach, and account engagement. You will learn the market, understand our value proposition, master the fundamentals of new business acquisition, and develop the skills required to successfully progress into our Business Development Manager, Commercial Accounts role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a foundational understanding of Life Science Connect’s platforms, client offerings, and the life sciences ecosystem.
  • Support sales team members in prospecting, lead generation, and appointment‑setting activities.
  • Execute targeted outreach campaigns under the guidance of senior sales leaders.
  • Participate in regular training, coaching, and feedback sessions to deepen your sales skills.
  • Gain exposure to key client conversations, strategic planning, and performance measurement.
  • Demonstrate growth in communication, business acumen, and sales proficiency through defined program milestones.
Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preference will be given to degrees in the following areas:
    • Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Chemistry)
    • Business‑related fields (e.g., Business, Marketing, Communications)
  • Demonstrated commitment to a career in sales or business development.
  • Prior internship or work experience in sales, marketing or life sciences preferred. 
  • Coursework or experience with data analytics, interpretation and presentation of insights
  • AI Fluency: Ability to use AI tools to enhance research, prospecting, communication, and preparation while validating outputs and maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced, learning‑oriented environment.

Program Structure & Career Growth Path

Upon successful completion of the SDR program, team members have a clear promotion pathway into the Business Development Manager, Commercial Accounts role, where they take a leading position in new business acquisition within the commercial accounts segment.
