Purpose

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a full-time sales position that offers broad exposure to the lead generation, nurturing, and sales process of a global software company within the healthcare industry. This position helps build the skills necessary to succeed in a sales career, or within other departments, at Clinisys. The primary duty of this outside sales position is outbound prospecting focused on generating and cultivating sales leads that turn into qualified sales opportunities. This position is designed to expose you to the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or Laboratory Information System (LIS) industry.

Essential Functions

  • Own outbound prospecting motion by strategically engaging high value target accounts through outbound calling, personalized messaging, and multichannel outreach.

  • Build early pipeline by uncovering needs, assessing qualification status, and converting conversations into actionable sales opportunities.

  • Ensure flawless lead flow by documenting all interactions in Sales Prospecting Tool and CRM while seamlessly securing and coordinating confirmed meetings between the prospect and the appropriate Sales Representative to ensure a smooth handoff and accelerated opportunity progression.

  • Own the inbound lead qualification motion by rapidly responding to marketing generated inquiries—including form fills, calls, emails, and referrals—conducting thoughtful discovery to assess fit, determine urgency, and advance strong prospects into sales ready opportunities.

  • Strategize with sales reps in your territory to effectively, and efficiently, prospect for new business opportunities.

  • Work in a team environment to build and maintain ongoing prospective customer relationships to achieve growth targets.

  • Stay up to date on product updates and changes and effectively communicate and transition this knowledge to less experienced peers.

Skills needed to be successful

  • Strong phone presence with the ability to confidently speak with prospects, generate interest, and nurture sales leads.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented, with the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize requests from multiple parties.

  • Problem resolution skills and strong initiative.

  • Ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a sales development or lead-generating role.

  • Prior experience utilizing AI tools, like Microsoft Co-Pilot, to assist with prospecting and outreach strategy.

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Previous experience with Clinisys products.

  • Previous experience in lead generation, sales, and/or account management is strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record of sourcing high quality leads through phone-based outreach strongly preferred.

  • Experience in SaaS or healthcare sales is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot Sales, ZoomInfo is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the clinical laboratory industry is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds with assistance as part of office routine.

  • Up to 10% travel may be required to attend trade shows or shadow reps on site visits.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $23-$25/hr for annual base salary and is eligible for commissions. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
