We are currently seeking a passionate Sales Controls and Compliance Analyst to support our Sales Operations Team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all operations within our sales locations, sales processes, and system integrations remain in compliance with local, state, and federal DMV regulations. This role will focus on maintaining dealer licensing compliance, overseeing buyback processes, ensuring contract management, managing the sales order compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to uphold compliance and company standards throughout the entire end-to-end sales operation processes.


Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a state-by-state dealer compliance training curriculum for Field Sales and Sales Operations teams.
  • Establish and maintain standardized procedures for DMV-related document control, dealer plate inventory, registration approvals, and contract management, ensuring all paperwork is compliant.
  • Partner with service and delivery centers in licensed locations to document state inspection processes and to obtain necessary licenses to complete state inspections internally.
  • Establish and manage relationships with external regulators and auditors as needed to ensure compliance with dealer licensing requirements across different states.
  • Main Point of Contact for Field Teams when a state audit does occur.
  • Collaborate with the Transaction Operations and Tax Teams to ensure the accurate calculation of taxes and fees for all states in which Lucid Motors operates.
  • Ensure all registration fees and taxes are reconciled in a timely and proper manner and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze penalties on a state-by-state basis to identify any gaps in the sales operations process that can be improved.
  • Ensure that the sales operations team remains compliant with all applicable laws, internal policies, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure payments are received and recorded properly for vendor related transactions.  
  • Stay informed of upcoming state tax and regulatory changes, ensuring these are implemented effectively across the organization.
  • Oversee and supervise the vehicle buyback process by coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal guidelines and timelines.
  • Handle compliance-related issues with urgency, providing clear and timely communication to ensure required tasks are completed within deadlines.
  • Provide operational support to business partners for ad-hoc initiatives

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of applicable experience
  • Must have practical knowledge of dealership business operations and dealer compliance.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulations, particularly in automotive sales, licensing, and tax compliance.
  • Experience working with vehicle registration vendors and state auditors is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Comfortable presenting at the Executive level: making recommendations and justifying your decisions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, with the ability to create and innovate in undefined, unstructured environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance is maintained across all areas of the business.
  • Self-starter mentality and comfort working in a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
