Job Description
Summary: Supports and manages the sales and proposal process for new clients in the Managed Care and Public Sector market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Continually ensures assigned relationships growth and profitability by developing solid business relationships with prospects to assist in growth opportunities.
- Develops and executes strategies and sales tactics in the following areas: territory planning, proposal development, relationship development, partnerships, pricing, presentation and delivery as needed.
- Research and document client requirements/RFPs and manage FOIA requests.
- Helps sales team meet established sales goals and quota schedule per plan year’s objectives and multi-year growth targets. Assists in developing and maintaining sales pipelines.
- Work with marketing team to create customized proposals and communication for clients and prospects. Develop familiarity with potential clients to educate internal stakeholders on the market demands and prospect specific needs.
- Organize and conduct sales presentations, site visits and product demonstrations as needed
- Fosters ongoing mutually beneficial relationships with national and regional consultants within the healthcare industry.
- Maintains a solid knowledge of all of MedImpact’s offerings and products.
- Maintains the positive branding of MedImpact within the healthcare industry.
- Strengthen the team’s performance by sharing information, supporting sales and marketing activities.
- Exercises leadership, demonstrates results-oriented planning, works in a positive and motivating way with internal counterparts and external clients.
- Routinely updates SalesForce with key client information and utilizes contact management software to manage pipeline activity.
- Works in conjunction with the account to assist with the award of new business activities, including but not limited to the RFP and pricing process and client contracting.
- Helps educate colleagues on market dynamics and competitive landscape.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and five (5) to seven (7) years related experience in a healthcare or PBM environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years proven experience in the following areas:
- Successful selling and/or upselling of strategic benefits and/ or in proposal development, products and services to decision makers in a healthcare or PBM environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Successful negotiation of new sales contracts and/or contract renewals with existing clients
- Building relationships with key decision makers as a credible subject matter expert and consultant
- Prior experience working with healthcare leaders, human resources and benefits professionals, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), government agencies, consulting firms, and or other related industry experts is required.
- Experience working with PBM, related health care management or healthcare technology. Prior experience with and working knowledge of FFS Medicaid, Public Sector, or health plans (commercial, managed Medicaid and MAPD) is preferred.
