Your opportunity
EF High School Exchange Year sponsors international high school students who spend a semester or academic year living with host families across the United States. To make their dreams a reality, we first must grow and maintain our large network of volunteer host families who open their hearts and homes to these brave students. That's where you come in!
You will directly manage the process of matching international exchange students with volunteer host families living in your region of the US. You will do this by successfully managing, motivating and coaching a team of local coordinators as they work in their communities across the US to recruit new host families, engage with local schools, and promote the ideas and values of exchange. Once a family is found, you will work to match them with a student and assist with various administrative responsibilities to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants. You will constantly be working towards meeting and surpassing individual and team goals as you look to grow our presence within your region's schools and communities.
What you’ll do
Our Regional Placement Managers are able to build strong relationships with a large group of coordinators, learn the ins-and-outs of their region's geography and school policies, and know how to coach, encourage and strategize creative actions to help find new host families and match them to the right student so that we can help others reach their goals. Having experience managing a sales pipeline is helpful, as is a competitive streak, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a love for tackling challenges head on.
Your demonstrated ability to produce results and inspire others is at the core of all you do, as are your outstanding communication and problem-solving skills. If you love being on the phone and connecting with people, this could be the right role for you! Yes, we are goal-oriented achievers, but we also value collaboration and teamwork, especially in overcoming obstacles and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. Your outstanding communication skills, excellent attention to detail, superior judgment, and sincere interest in international education will ensure a positive program experience for all participants.

Starting salary range for this role is $50,000 to $57,000, depending on prior work experience. Bonus potential is available based on individual sales performance. This role is also eligible for overtime.
What we’re looking for
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building relationships, being on the phone, working toward clear goals and managing a large portfolio of opportunities. We are looking for someone who is organized, relationship-focused and motivated by helping others take action. The right candidate brings strong follow-through, sound judgment and the ability to stay focused in a fast-moving, goal-oriented environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
  • Experience in sales, account management, recruiting, admissions, customer success or another relationship-driven role
  • Ability to travel 2-4 times per year
  • Ability to work work evenings and shift weekend days as needed a plus
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence action and move work forward without direct authority
  • Comfort with outbound calling, high-volume outreach and consistent follow-up
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay focused on results
  • Comfort working in a performance-driven environment with clear goals, outreach expectations and activity metrics
  • Confidence using data, activity tracking or performance metrics to guide daily decisions
  • Desire to remain positive, adaptable and solution-oriented when priorities shift or pressure is high
  • Ability to communicate diplomatically with diverse program participants
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds a plus

But it’s what we do with it – building greater understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a better world...that makes all the difference. Learn more at https://ef.com.

About Us
Some companies are in the business of banking. Others are in the business of shoes. Or sports. Or soft drinks. At EF, we're in a different kind of business. One that's a little less tangible, and a lot more important. Because our business, what we make, makes everything else possible. We're in the business of understanding. Between people. Between cultures.

For over half a century we’ve been the leader in international educational programs and experiences designed to foster such understanding.  Through language, cultural exchange, academic studies, and educational travel, we create the kinds of immersive experiences that challenge biases, open minds, and pave the way for a more understanding world.

You’ll find our offices and schools located in some of the world’s greatest cities, and filled with smart, driven people (over 50,000 of us) who push each other to be better every day. But it’s what we do together - building greater understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a better world - that makes all the difference.
